We are going to have to give up something

Not really, Joe Klein and his type are rabid anti-gunners who have always existed. The firearms owning community has only made the progess recently because we had the voting public on our side. Only 1 in 3 americans personally own a gun (not just have one in the household). We need keep the...

We are going to have to give up something

A huge number of the public doesnt believe that owning a semi automatic firearm with a 30 round magazine is a "right". And before you start in on the 2nd ammendment allow me to remind you that its just a piece of paper, it only has power because a large number of people believe in the idea...

We are going to have to give up something

My 2 cents. Recently the GOP went all in on stopping Obamacare, they obstructed, refused to negotiate, filibustered etc and as a result had ZERO input on the details of the final bill. Then they lost in 2012 and it is pretty much a given that Obamacare is the law of the land. We should not...

CZ 85 Combat vs. STI GP6

If its is going to be for range use, I would defineatly go with the CZ. Longer barrel, greater weight to absord recoil and steady the gun, and factory adjustable sights. Plus you can add the kadet 22 LR kit latter for cheap plinking.

just got my cz-75 back from cz custom...question

Every DA/SA handgun will have alot of take up in SA mode, you have to or the DA will not function. Sounds like you wanted it converted to SA only but didnt know it.

disappointment with the quality of CZ Duty.

The front sight on my m&p pro went flying off after just a few rounds. Does that mean S&W is crap? No, every manufacture will have problems occasionally especially when they are trying to keep prices down to compete. That being said the p-07 duty did have alot of problems, but cz usa has...

    CZ-75 (clones) Carry

LE agencies, especially big ones in major cities, have to train alot of recruits, some of whom have never held or even fired a gun before. They want simple, reliable, inexpensive and light wieght pistols. Striker fired poly guns fit the bill perfectly, light, no safeties or decockers to fumble...

    XDM 9 or Glock M17 or ?

Shoot the glock before you buy it, if you have meaty hands, as I do, you might get slide bite from them.

CZ 75B single action vs DA/SA

Without a doubt, then get the SA. Bigger safeties to rest your thumb on, beaver tail grip, heavier to absord recoil, better trigger. I think the da/sa version would be better for carry.

    Which 9mm semi-Auto should I buy?

I would put this gun at $980: http://czcustom.com/cz75shadowsablk.aspx Against any similarly priced 1911 any day of the week and bet it beats it on trigger, accuracy, ergonomics, and reliablity. Unless you really have tiny hands and need a single stack gun I would take the CZ, guns tend to...

    Which 9mm semi-Auto should I buy?

IMO the best range 9mm for the money. Accurate, good ergos, good trigger. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_82/products_id/411536718

    Best 9mm for IPSC/USPSA

9mm is really only competative in production where everything is scored minor and in open where it can make major. Open class is $3000 race guns with compensators, red dots, huge mag wells, 26+ round mags etc. Production, the gun has to be on the list, weigh with 2oz of the weight of the...

    Illinois is just awful

Exactly, just because NY and CA have concealed carry, I would still rather live in IL. Sure a few wealthy and politically connected people can concealed carry in those states, but the majority can not. And they have "assault weapons" bans, mag restrictions and a whole lot of other unsavory...

    Illinois is just awful

What are you talking about? I live in the US and have the same constitutional protections you do. Concealed carry is a state issue, not a federal one, even the current conservative majority on the SCOTUS would not say anything different. We own guns here in IL, the restriction are pretty mild...

    Illinois is just awful

It depends on the circumstances, police officers in IL carry high capacity glocks on their hips and wear bullet proof vests and still get killed by thugs. The simple possession of a firearm on your person does not grant immuninty to crime or bullets. This is absolute hyperbolic nonsense, a...

    Illinois is just awful

Serfs? I have lived in IL my entire life and never once felt like a serf. IL is far from perfect but trust me most of the rest of the country is not either. With the exception of the lack of concealed carry and the FOID card most of the state is fairly gun friendly, outside of the chicago...

    Illinois FOID card

For me, its not just a liablity issue, I dont want it on my concious if I sold a gun to someone who normally could not buy one and then uses to victimize someone. Even if I knew I wasnt going to be held liable I would still not want to sell a gun to a dirtbag.

    Illinois FOID card

The one thing I do like about the FOID card is if you are a not a FFL holder and sell a firearm to a private IL citizen the FOID card does give you some piece of mind that they are not prohibited from owning firearms.
