HK P2000 Shooting Low Gunsmith Solutions

Are you trying to get the rounds to impact at the top of the front sight? HK pistols are zeroed so that the dot on the front sight is the point of impact when the sights are lined up so you want to cover your target with the front sight.

    Frangible Ammo for SD

Air marshals do not carry frangible ammo. They carry standard hollow points.

Which Night Sights for my Glock 26 Gen 4?

http://www.ameriglo.net/catalog/sights/pistol-sights/glock/night-sights/complete-sets/i-dot Ameriglo (model GL 202) I-Dot Pro with the green front and yellow rear get my vote. The big orange ring around the front sight really draws your focus, making acquiring a sight picture faster. The...

    Are Glocks really all that?

http://pistol-training.com/articles/kevhs-very-opinionated-guide-to-the-beretta-92 This article explains pretty well why Glocks are so popular with law enforcement. Just scroll down to the section titled "Do police departments still carry the 92FS and 96F? Why do a lot of departments switch to...

    Firearm laws you do support....

What I meant was people with felony convictions who have been released from prison. If these people shouldn't have their rights, why did we let them out of prison to begin with? If a criminal wasn't executed, and has served his/her time, then I believe all rights should be restored.

Milt Sparks Holster! But which one?

If you're considering the Versa Max II, check out the Mike's Special from TT Gunleather as well. I've heard that it's just as nice in terms of fit and finish but the wait time is much shorter.

    Firearm laws you do support....

I used to support certain restrictions such as barring felons and minors from purchasing and possessing firearms, but after speaking with many who I would call "smarter and more learned in the ways of the world" than I, and doing my own research, the only firearm law I support is the Second...

Larry Vickers & Ken Hackathorn on the HK45

I know they don't work for HK because if they did, they would have the info on their websites. Them not getting royalties comes from Todd Green's responses in the comments section of his interview with them. Having Ken Hackathorn and Larry Vickers design your handgun is like having Jeff Gordon...

Larry Vickers & Ken Hackathorn on the HK45

You guys do know that neither Larry nor Ken work for HK? Nor do they receive royalty checks for every pistol sold. All they got from HK was the credit for the design.

must be a pretty good pistol...

You know what they say, Two is One, and One is None. You should make sure to buy a second one as a backup in case the first goes down or is confiscated after a shooting. Guess someone is going to be having Ramen for dinner for quite a while.

What gun companies haven't "sold out?"

I'm not sure what HK was expected to do during the US AWB with all of our "sporting purpose" import restrictions in place. They weren't allowed to sell semi-auto versions of their smgs to civilians with no other changes. Just look at the SAIGA rifles from Russia. They come with sporting stocks...

    HK45 and USP40

They are both completely safe to carry with one in the chamber, hammer down. Pretty much all modern DA autoloaders are.

    Convince me on a ccw

I've read through the thread so far and have to agree with those who advised you to get the permit anyway, whether you will carry or not. That way if you do decide to carry at one point, you will already have the permit. The issue that concerns me is that from your OP, it does not sound as if...

Concealed Carry during the GRE (graduate record exam)

I feel that as even though the OP has finished the test, as long as we remain civil, the discussion remains on topic. The OP was required to be in an area that he did not feel comfortable in, an area he described as dangerous. He was legally allowed to carry into that area but the people in...

    Advice on polymer 9/40 compact

Check out the HK P2000. It meets all of your criteria except the metal trigger. I can't think of a single polymer pistol with a metal trigger though.

    around 1200.00

HK45c. Arguably the best .45 outside of semi-custom 1911s. It's stone-cold reliable and over-engineered to the nth degree. Even the springs will probably outlast you if you shoot as much as the average guy (25,000 rounds is the recommended point to start replacing them). It's match-grade...

New guy looking for advice on CCW.

Have you considered having your HK converted to the LEM trigger? It's a consistent pull of your choice of 7.4, 6.5, or 4.1 pounds. I haven't used it yet but a lot of people swear by it.

To or not to sign up for Shivworks ECQC

http://www.firearmstrainingandtactics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=531 This AAR of an ECQC class from May was posted on another forum. It sounds, and looks, like a fantastic class in which one would expect to learn a great deal. I look forward to attending it one day.

    Firearm Buyer Stupidity

You do know that buying a firearm as a gift is perfectly fine within the scope of federal law, right? The buyer is the actual buyer and it is not a straw purchase. They buy the gun and are then legally allowed to keep it or give it away as a gift.

    Self Defense and CCW Literature

"The Gift of Fear" by Gavin deBecker. It's about trusting your gut instincts and teaching you about the kinds of things that trigger them in the first place. Great read. The author does show an anti-gun mentality and seems to have a bit of an ego, but if you can get that, there is a ton of...
