Lee Pro 6000 unboxing and testing for OAL consistency

I had bought the slow twist station advance rod back in December, but never got around to trying it. Thought I'd give people a heads up to a possible snafu with it. Hopefully mine is the only one that is slightly oversize in the width at the el end. It would not drop fully into the groove at...

Lee Pro 6000/Six Pack Pro (SPP) Bending Spring and Case Slider

I haven't seen the spring binding problem yet, but I had to find a one inch longer spring for my APP modded RCBS Summit. And found a "flex" problem with it pushing the longer spring. That was solved well with a thinwall rigid clear tube that I just slid over the spring.....worked better than an...

What other hobbies occupy your loading bench?

Ha.....that reminded me of an experience as an 8 year-old. My uncle was an B29 pilot, then an airline pilot instructor. He flew in with a couple of students to eat lunch into our little town. Came to the house and ate....took me to the airport for some "flying lessons". We got a few thousand...

New 3D Printed Case Feeder for the Lee Pro 6000

    It's a quality design....you'll like it!

Does anyone use the Hornady ap progressive swag tool ?

Swaging......that's another thing I've used the Lee APP for. I also have an RCBS bench swager which is very similar to Dillon's bench tool. Of the three....the Lee is way faster with it's case feeder. But have never used the Hornady press so never used that swager. So 9mmepiphany, Since you...

    Weird range pick up brass.

Yes, I found a .40 shot in a .45 on our range......and it looks just like that only bigger and with a split down one side......was looking for my photo to no avail. But there was only one........wonder why? :) If I find it I'll post it. I'm curious how is felt and how it ejected......must...

A New Cartridge For Me - 45 LC - Any Advice?

I bought a .45ACP/L.C. Ruger Blackhawk convertible many years ago.....and never got to shoot the Colt side of it.....being stolen out of my master bedroom closet during a home break-in while we were out of town. (Yep, that's when I bought a too late gun safe). I remember that my reloading...

    Another disappointing die purchase

I have many RCBS die sets and several Lee die sets. No scratches. I became the owner of a converted FN Mauser target rifle converted to a wildcat .22-243 Middlestead and went looking for a custom die set for it. There was two choices at Grafs......an RCBS set and a Redding set. I thought...

What other hobbies occupy your loading bench?

2'x8' looked like plenty of room when I started converting it from a MX motorcycle motor repair bench to a reloading bench........... second picture is old.....now I have an APP and a Lee Six Pack plus 4 more brass and bullet collators......no other hobbies on this bench! But see the door on...

    Cleaning Primer Pockets. Tools?

I used to use these, until I wore out the "yankee" mechanism on the large one. But that was years before I started tumbling wet with pins. Now after tumbling I just use a "uniformer" on my TrimMate to make the depth uniform. But these Lee cleaners were fast and worked excellent for a while.

    RCBS Bench Primer Handle

Yes, a little faster, but not safer. I can't get out of my mind the pictures of a forum member's mangled hand when he carried a loaded tube across a floor covered with Nylon carpet. So I wasn't exactly thrilled when I bought the newer RCBS Pro Chucker 7 for the extra stations, and they had...

    RCBS Bench Primer Handle

Now that CCI no longer sells APS stripped primers getting the strip filler with it is a "must" bonus. Very reasonable....with it you can fill strips as fast a filling a tube.....and filled strips are way safer than a filled tube.

    RCBS Bench Primer Handle

The APS version of RCBS's bench primer had a perfect handle, adjustible short and light. I thought they'd improve the original but they never did......they did delete anything APS though, so that nice tool is only available from those willing to sell theirs. Maybe my kids will when I...

Loading Flat Bottom Bullets in .223 Cases

The Forster is a great tool, and with the 3 in 1 cutter even better, but for a guy my age with worn out wrists from a lifetime of building construction, what really made a difference is a mod to let gravity and an electric drywall screw gun from Home depot perfect it.

Loading Flat Bottom Bullets in .223 Cases

Not too far different from me. In my last post I mentioned my Trim Mate and meant my Forster Trimmer.....geeze going senile I guess. I had to change that one too. I do use a Trim Mate but not for trimming.....just primer pocket uniforming and swaging if needed. Sorry for the mistake. It was...

Loading Flat Bottom Bullets in .223 Cases

Doh......I should have proof read that post. Thanks for catching that! first station should have read 1-size......(but not deprime). 2nd station should have read M die/prime. I fixed it. To clarify....all my rifle brass is deprimed on a Lee APP with a universal deprimer die lickety split...

Loading Flat Bottom Bullets in .223 Cases

Me neither, but now that I do most of it on progressives with 6 (Pro 6000) or 7 (Pro Chucker 7) stations, I add an "M" expander having the extra station, just before the powder drop, which means each case is given a square stable pocket for the bullet, flat based or boat tailed, into which my...

Let’s see an odd item that you use in your reloading process.

MeanStreak Paint Markers are my secret eye saver tools.....mark on, wipe excess off, with mineral spirits.....simple and fast. Odd? Only that more reloaders haven't found out about it. But I'm a building contractor.....it's a common tool in my business. ;) In the case of shell...

Cheapest, easiest way to trim a lot of .223 brass?

When I was looking, several years ago to remove that bottleneck, most of the newer tools didn't exist, just the Dillon, and I had an aversion to doing it on press, so I got out my trusty 30 year-old Forster, bought their new 3-way cutter for it, bought a clutched drywall screw gun from Home...

    Is it really “OCD”??

Well that lets me out. I do that stuff only when I have to.......so maybe it applies to only "GOOD" reloaders. ;) Right now my reloading room is not a model of order. Always a new project that makes a mess.
