The quickest easiest way to prepare a skull for a euro mount.

Great hints, H&H. Never thought of the baking soda. I've got a skull still in the freezer from this past season, so I'm going to try this recipe.

    Oops! My first squib.

Once again, thank you all for your comments. And I am NOT offended by the sharper remarks, either. Sometimes we all need a good butt-chewing to get back on track and not do something stupid. Again. :uhoh: I've taken a number of your ideas and added them to the crock-pot of my mind to let...

    Oops! My first squib.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Consider my knuckles well-slapped. :o I started on .45 since it is a huge case that is easy to see into to check for a powder charge. Ironically, the 9mm seems to be better for seeing a powder charge (and will not physically hold a double-charge of HP-38). I...

    Oops! My first squib.

They say it happens to us all eventually. Friday was my turn. I was brushing up for my renewal class with the poodle-poppin' 9mm, and wanted to cleanse my palette with my way-too-fun-to-shoot 1911. So, I loaded up and started shooting. Rounds 1-7 fired as normal. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Round 8...

    Holster needed for hunting

Once again, thanks for the suggestions. It looks like the chest rig wins. Now, off to find one!

    Holster needed for hunting

Thanks for all the replies! That's why I come here - ideas that I didn't think of. I like the chest rig idea, but the shoulder holster isn't quite what I'm looking for - unless it doesn't get in the way of properly seating a rifle for a shot.

    Holster needed for hunting

Here's an odd request for y'all. I need a holster for hunting season, but not the usual kind. A few of the stands I hunt from (there are 7 on the property) during rifle season are a bit...um...cramped. I always carry a pistol with me, and a couple of times last season I could have made an...

I wish all Governors were this straight forward about the 2nd amendment

What's not in the linked story is that Florida has a preemption law in effect. It would be against state law for the Governor to comply with the Mayor's illegal order to ban carry, something Florida Carry has been slapping cities pretty hard with since the preemption law passed.

Revolver Picture Thread of All Time

Here's my new-to-me Model 15-3, the Combat Masterpiece. She needs a bit of cleaning, but I'm ready to make her rock!

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

Good day! I've got a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece I'd like to nail down for sure. I was told it was made in 1969, but I'd like a second opinion to be certain. Pic below: a) .38 SPL b) 4" c) square butt grip d) 6 shot e) adjustable f) K9136XX g) 15-3

Do you own an AR-pattern rifle?

I have...uh, I mean, I HAD an AR until my wife stole it from me. It was a nice Spike's Tactical Middy, too. I only got about 150 rounds through it before her felonious act, too! Now I need another one so I can enjoy some range time with it.

    22lr Semi-Auto

Coming back for an update. Forgot to mention that I've got a Walther P22 which is only 100% with CCI Mini-Mags. I've also shot a Beretta Neos and enjoyed it, too. The mag release on the Neos is probably the best of the bunch (especially if you are right handed), but I still prefer the Buckmark...

    Wanting .22 New Revolver

I voted for the SP101 because I want one, too! I've got a Single-Six convertible and love it, but I'm looking to get into the DA game, too.

    22lr Semi-Auto

I've got to second the Buckmark. I've only got about 1K rounds through mine, but it's been a dream and eats everything I feed it.

What's a good price for brass?

I get about $1.50 for scrap brass at the recycler, so that's not too bad of a deal. I pick up brass at a local range, sort out what I need (or for trade bait) and sell the rest. The deal I have with the owner is that he gets half the value of what I pick up. Works out pretty well so far.

How long CAN you run it? Joe found out that it'll run for at least 13 days! http://blog.joehuffman.org/2012/03/12/Shiny.aspx

    .308 question

I recently 'retired' a 1959 vintage Winny model '94 in .30-30 in favor of a .308 and I couldn't be happier. Haven't made a shot over 125 yards with it, but it has been a real joy to shoot. I say go for it! BTW, my gun is a Marlin XS7 with a synthetic stock, and I never worried about it on...

    Top Shot (Season 4)

And the razzing Chris Reed gave him in this week's episode of "Top Guns" really helped to show a more 'relaxed' Colby. Chris turned the tables and did the whole "shot commentary" while Colby was shooting - I just had to laugh.

Are all rimfires going to be Umarex?

That's partly why I bought my Walther P22 from Davisdon's - any problem and they'll fix it or ship out a brand new replacement.
