Little over 40 years ago I worked on off shore oil platform a week on/week off. We had no phones out where we lived down on the Kenai and all emergency communications had to go through the Moose Pass store via CB and they would then make it a three way connection with their phone. But more...

I have been reading the "Life of Lieutenant-General Nathan Bedford Forrest" by John Allan Wyeth. There are more references in this book to breech loaders, Colt revolving rifles and etc. by both the Union and Confederacy than any other Civil War writings that I have read before. It seems the...

Cant get crisco here, would shea or cocoa butter work?

Coconut butter is a different beast. I have several boxes out in the garage where summer temps hit at least 140f (AZ desert)), and it has never so much as slumped, let alone melt.

    Lead sleds- any good?

I use it with Caldwell Stable Table primarily to sight in and just to see how accurate a rifle is with different loads. Like many, at 75 my eyes and tremors make it necessary to stabilize things. And, I certainly think the lead sled performs great for my needs.
