    Springfield MC Operator (PX9105MLP)

"Unlike many of the other Operators, it does not have the full length guide rod, but rather has your standard short plastic rod for ease of take-down. I have heard this pistol was only made for a short while and that they are becoming very "sought after" now. Is there any truth to this? Does...

    Colt .380 ACP Nitelite (Mustang)

Greetings, I was looking for any information on the Colt .380 ACP Nitelite. It was sold with a Trijicon ("type) front sight. Mine is no longer a *glow in the dark*. I was considering selling it, and have "read" where they say only 200 units were made? Any information regarding this...

SIG P220 .45 Stainless "Special Forces"

Found this thread on a google search, from the web, LOL. I too, have a P220 with the SF ensignia on the front of the slide. The model ID on the box ends in "SF". I called Sig today, and had the person run the SN. The only info she could develope, was that it was not a retail item, and...

    Move a 260lbs safe downstairs

That shouldn't be any problem with an appliance dolly. Mine is rated at 700 lbs. But if you want an easier way, rent a Stair climbing/descending dolly. I just moved a much heavier safe (upstairs) without any problem. See my post here: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=477027

The EASY Way to Move a Safe Up or Down stairs

I've researched moving a safe upstairs on gun forums, and didn't find much useful help. However when I did a YouTube search, I learned of stair climbing dolly's. Then I called around, and Cresco Rentals has them. A light duty unit at 650 lbs. max, and a HD unit (forget the max weight, but is...

how to alter ejection pattern, is it possible?

Years ago I had a Para-Ord that I called my Bastard gun, as most of the shells bounced off my face or forehead, leaving black marks. Until I finally had a smith tweak it. Took him 5 seconds. He said OK, you're good now. Never a problem again... That was a 1911.

How many rounds does it take to "break in" a semi?

After several Para-Jams failed to run smoothly, the Factory told me they needed to be broken in more... Later I pratically ran out of ammo, time and money. And it didn't even help! So much for that theory (concerning Para's). Now my (new) Sigs, a few mags to prove reliability and I'm good.

    Heavy Gun Safes and Flooring

Heeler, Since you haven't received much response yet - I'll chime in here, but please understand - I am by far NOT any expert or even close to it, and have NEVER even moved a safe before. But I do have a safe I need to locate upstairs, and have been reading up on it recently. In my...

    Hiding A Gun Safe?

Fast Frank Stated _________________________________________ Fast Frank, thanks for the reply. I agree with the jist of your post. The safe will be located in a bedroom closet, in a location that is not even visible if that rooms door is open fully. Yet I wanted a small edge. So I do plan...

    Gun safes

Regarding drywall as a fire barrier, not only is it not a very good heat/fire barrier for a safe, but wouldn't there also be a concern that if the safe took any physical abuse or shock, the sheetrock could break & crumble, reducing it's already minimal effectiveness? I realize the space where...

    Gun safes

OP Asked: I understand there are some ratings not as accurate as others? Can someone please clarify? It's lines like these that add to the confusion: It is important to note that products which are "tested to UL standards" have not necessarily met or exceeded those standards, and may...

    Gun safes

a1abdj You're right. And my due diligence was only research online. I don't have any practical experience. I'd like to have a cement lined or professional grade fire-safe, but both the price & weight would not allow it. I know many folks are happy with a fiber-board or fire resistant...

    Hiding A Gun Safe?

I am currently installing an average size gun safe, and will attempt to make it slighten hidden behind a false door (and tied in to my home alarm system). I got some good ideas here....http://hiddendoors.com/galleryThumb.asp?category=13 Anyone ever considered this? Seems like a pretty...

    Gun safes

IMHO, Anyone who dues their due deligence, will select a Sturdy Safe. Especialy those that desire fire resistance. Many have "fire prevention" designed in (fireboard), and some have real fire retardard materials. I've done my research, and Sturdy Safe was my obvious choice. And their...

Para Ordnance Customer Service Steps Up BIGTIME

Well just to follw up - I was premature in my haste. I knew I should have waited for the final product testing prior to posting, but Derek at Para had sold me. Two mags fed, two FTF. They say now I need a new barrel, that my barrel has been modified (the ramp is too steep). The gun has...
