Well, here's my first attempt at reloading full bore .357 Magnum.

I'm using a Lee crimp die set up 1/2 turn for a light crimp. It calls for one full turn for a heavy crimp. Flip.

Well, here's my first attempt at reloading full bore .357 Magnum.

Thanks everyone! Exaclty how much more do you think is needed provied the bullets don't jump crimp? Should I try a medium crimp next or go full on heavy? Other than a narrowing of the ES and SD, will there be any other differances in velocities and pressure signs with the same charge? I was...

Well, here's my first attempt at reloading full bore .357 Magnum.

I really didn't shoot too much for accuracy as much as just feeling it out. The manual calls for a minimum OAL of 1.580 for that load but in order to seat the bullet to the crimping groove, I had to go down to about 1.570 OAL. I'll tighten up the crimp and maybe have another go at it next week...

Well, here's my first attempt at reloading full bore .357 Magnum.

I went out this morning to try out some .357 handloads that I pu together last night. I was using Winchester cases, Winchester small pistol primers, Remington 158gr. SJHP's and 14.1 grains of 2400 with a light crimp. I was shooting these out of my 6.5 inch stainless Blackhawk. I was also using a...

I'm with Justin to. The best shotgun is one that is reliable with your chosen defense ammo. You are the most important component of a shotgun. More important than any side saddle, extension or any fancy sighting system. Buy alot of ammo and above all get training before you buy any aftermarket...

I found one in 12 ga for a REAL decent price and am thinking real hard on it. There is also a Stoeger for sale in the classifieds also that seems nice to. Flip.

    Stoeger Coach Gun?

Now, is your a 12 or a 20 ga? What chokes do you like to use when just walking and when using slugs? How easy is it to break down? I'm looking to also use it as a travel/trunk gun that easily stows away in a suitcase to be reassembled in a hotel room for those multinight stays that I seem to be...

    Stoeger Coach Gun?

"I take it there's no auto-safety on the Stoeger?" I believe there is. I just got back from my local gun store and handled a couple of Stoeger Coach guns. The safety engaged everytime I opened the action. MCgunner, I saw in a previous topic that you have an SPR220. How do you like it and does...

What primers to use with 2400 in .357.

"If you want a good 357 Mag round, then load it as it should be - ass whipping" Oh, I agree. I want to load them hot. .357 is a great caliber to experiment with. There are lots and lots of loads out there from mild to wild. I'll be using a Stainless 6 inch Blackhawk so, I'll have some room to...

What primers to use with 2400 in .357.

Thanks everyone! I want to get serious about reloading again. I went ahead and placed an order for 2000 Remington 158gr. SJHP's, 8 lbs of Alliant 2400 and 5000 Winchester small pistol primers. Those hazmat fees are killer. $40.00 :what: . Thanks, Flip.

    Time to do the shotty!

I'm going to be SBS'ing my Benelli Super Nova Tactical out fitted with a Comfortech stock and rifle sights. I tried to get my LEO's signature today but he was out. I'll have to get it next week. I'm going to be doing a 14 inch rifle sighted barrel and will be sending the receiver out to Orion...

Four days of SuperNova and Front Sight

Cool! I also just finished a three day shotgun course three weeks ago at www.tacproshootingcenter.com. I also used a Benelli Super Nova mine had a comfortech stock and rifle sights. It was probably the most fun I have ever had at a shooting class. Flip.

Took a three day shotgun class and changed shotguns. Range report and Course report.

I think that the 870's (or Remington barrels) have tighter chambers and the aluminum base of the hulls allow it to expand more in the tighter chamber and then stick. Flip.

It was the Winchester that was sticking. I tried ten rounds from a fellow student and didn't have any problems. Usually if it's going to do it, it'll do it in the first five or so rounds and it didn't. That's when I went into town and bought a case of the stuff during lunch. My thing is, pump...

Took a three day shotgun class and changed shotguns. Range report and Course report.

gp911, it was a night and day differance between the two. The concepts were the same but there were two totally different ways of accomplishing the same goal. When people take the same type classes from different instructors, one has to have an open mind for the length of each class and try...

mtngunr, Mine was an express with an 18.5 inch police barrel. There were three more with two having vang barrels. The other was an old Wingmaster with a mossberg barrel. Myself and the two with the vang barrels had problems with hulls sticking. The mossberg barreled Wingmaster ran fine. The...
