    New bp shooter

Can't ask the previous owner so I'm having to do this on my own. A friend loaned me a pistol flask with some powder in it but he doesn't know what it is. It belonged to his deceased father. Dropped three tubes of powder in and was able to hit an 8" plate @ 50 yds with regularity till I ran out...

    New bp shooter

I've recently acquired a 50 cal CVA Hawkins rifle and need some help. It came with some balls, patches and some caps. What's the best powder, how much and how do you measure? Can saboted bullets be used or only balls. The local gander mountain only caters to the in lines so where is the best...

    40 /357 sig

Am in the market for a new pistol for ccw, range, fun. Prefer to look towards compact over sub-compact. My question is, what mfgr's make a pistol that supports interchangable 40 / 357 sig platform? I like the idea of two calibers with one familiar grip & trigger. Any advice would be nice, thanks.

    Hi-Point Carbine

Saw a Hi-Point carbine in my local toy store today and was curious. What would be a practical use for this weapon. It looks like a decent HD gun but what else? I do quite a bit of 4-wheelin in target rich areas, coyote & hogs mostly. Would one of these be suited for such activities, I understand...

    Taurus 738

Anyone know where the 738 is made? US or foreign? Any reason to purchase it over LCP or P3AT other than it comes with an extra mag, the murse probably won't see the light of day. My local shop has the 738 @$299, LCP @ $299, P3AT @ $289. Wife's getting the LCP today, I'm still on the fence...

    Kill the kick

I'm guessing it's the stock recoil pad. I have'nt taken the rifle down that far yet. I'm no gunsmith so I have'nt done much more than thorough cleanings.

    Kill the kick

Looking for ideas, suggestions, wag's. Have a Savage 116 in 7mm rem mag, stainless with composite stock. The kick is impressive. Looking to tone it down a bit, maybe with a different stock or other accessories. Don't want to clean out the wallet either. Like the gun, long as it's in the rack...

    one gun

Thanx for all the replies, lots of good advice out there. Am leaning towards S&W M&P 40, American made! Like the look @ feel of the Stoeger Cougar plus good price.

    one gun

I am in the market for a ccw firearm. The criteria is this: one gun for all seasons, $500.00 price range, inexpensive [not cheap], wheel or auto, 38 and up. I am familiar with most major brands and find +&- in each. I spend a great deal of time out in public due to service type work so I may be...
