I would like those with the knowledge of shooting blanks of whether this is feasible in terms of building pressure to dislodge a .30 cal boresnake brush which is confirmed to be halfway down the barrel of a .22 cal semi-auto.
I was thinking of starting with a primer and then gradually...
In this EU country, we have seen new firearms legislation introduced just over the last 1.5 years (as ever more restrictions) and now the current minister of Justice wants a new national debate on firearms following that US incident to introduce more measures :scrutiny:
and now a friend has...
The line from Saving Private Ryan seemed apt for this thread. I have read a lot over the past few months on THR and given my European perspective I just wanted to add something to the debate.
You have to do everything possible to prevent the further infringement on the iconic American right...
I am wondering if it is a model 63?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_Mitralier%C4%83_model_1963/1965
I can obtain a full auto version (via collector's license here in Europe) or a semi-auto version (my intention in order to shoot it)
What I do know per the LGS is that it is

This poll is for those thinking about getting into reloading and hearing the 'money saved' argument which is why I've left it open indefinitely.
I've decided to make this black and white - only two answers....and a get out clause for those who cast their 'boolits' in addition to reloading...
has anybody else appear to have worn out their primer disk plate for small pistol primers?
in comparison to my LP disk the SP disk appears to have a circular groove around the entire disk, more pronounced in some places than others - result is primers going in sideways/upside down.
I've...
Just wondering if there are any risks to tumbling primed cases(no bullet/powder).
The only problem I could envisage would be trapped tumbler media in the primer but guess if each cartridge gets a good shake out there shouldn't be a problem.
Just thought I would check out what opinions are...
I stripped the original screw bushings+screws when I went to put on my new nills grips :fire:
I can only get grip screw bushings from a manufacturer approved by the US state department from an approved list that brownells has sent me to be posted to Europe. :(
As such I'm limited to these...
I'm really hoping somebody can help me.
The slide of my Colt GCNM has jammed and I only have about 150 thousandths of an inch in movement. Worst of all there is a live round in the chamber :uhoh:
I was checking to ensure it cycled properly(couldn't find my dummy rounds so decided to use...
I'm curious to know if it prevents oxidation and what type of machine you use to seal them? I quite liked the picture you posted in another thread of all your bags and all the brass seemed like they just came out of the tumbler.
I find tumbled brass seems to tarnish over weeks/months of...
I'm just wondering if leaving powder in a Redding 10x-pistol powder measure will discolour the polymer/plastic container?
The reason I ask is the threads on it are quite tight (first problem I've had with redding equipment) and I've mounted it on my T7. I don't fancy taking the wrench out...
Just wondering if any of you have experienced taking the time to show somebody who initially presents an 'interest' in learning how to reload only to realise they're only interested in using your equipment and obtaining better cartridges at a fraction of factory cost ammo?
I'm just wondering if it's possible as I'm really short on SR primers but have quite a few SP.
6.5 grains of Vihta N320 on a 158 grain FP with COAL of 1.585"
I'm thinking N320 is a fast enough powder to use a small pistol rather than small rifle primer ??
Any thoughts??
and then noticed the front sight was loose
apparently this is quite common on a lot of Colts....it's only when you have a problem and do the research that you find it's a problem everybody knows is common except you :p
As it's dated from 1984 I believe it has the broad tenet and it needs to...
I had read on various places the gap between the forcing cone and the cylinder when the action isn't locked up should be between 2-6 thousands of an inch.
I was checking a 2nd hand 629-1 and the gap seemed extremely tight so I asked the store owner if the gunsmith could measure it - it came...
I'm in the process of building a proper reloading bench having gotten by with a bench more or less thrown together in a hurry.
I'm just wondering what sort of a top is best in terms of material/depth.
The deepest cut sheets I can buy are 28mm or just over an inch, so I was thinking of...
I got a HK45 brand new about 6 months ago and while this is not mine, this photo (middle one is the HK45) looks exactly like the rust problem I have on the slide stop of my pistol.
The rest of the pistol is perfect. I'm just wondering for those among you with HK45s do you have the same...
