    CCW means Concealed.

2 words... Man Purse! Briefcase carry, backpack, fanny pack, small organizer, or Maxpedition bag. My max bag is designed for carry, plus fits the other detrious without wearing a fishing vest or batman belt. If I really want to wear on body, really you have to go crotch holster. People...

    Family Code Words?

Damn, forgot one key principle... Keep It Simple! So, still have one or two family codes (have since I was a kid) and we train with them at work, but.... Good point about memory and confusion. Don't want to add lots of codes your not going to train with regularly and confuse a situation...

How to handle a break in

Silly option L; You and the family don gas masks and then dump a large can of pepper spray down the stairwell then lock the door! Crooks gone, family safe! (Minus is the whole house smells like salsa for weeks and the couch cushions now burn bare skin....)

Best survival knife for under $200???

I'll second the vote for a machete sized knife. I love love love my Cold Steel ghurka Kukri. Shorter than a machete, just a bit longer than a Ka-Bar, great camp tool and has replaced a pocket knife, camp axe, and saw though I do duplicate a bit anyway. This weekend practacing fire bow making...

    Family Code Words?

silly? I use them at work on occasion. Nice when the person sitting at your desk is manic, drugged, and talking about killing people starting with me... Security comes in all quiet, gets into position, then padded room! Beats wrestling a blade out of a 21 year old on Meth single handed... But...

The “Reciprocal Conceal Carry” Act. S. 845

So, living in California I'd still have to get a CCW here first right? Or should I apply for a CCW in Utah (and the 16 state compact) and hope that it grandfathers me in?

    Family Code Words?

Do you train with friends and family with code words? At work we use them to notify each other of threats etc, coordinate response and can secretly activate all available officers with code phrases. Does anyone have? Like a Grab the Kids and drive to your Mothers Code? (Don't use this one...

How do you talk to anti- people?

I stayed in a hostel in Santa Fe recently, (good place to meet some very liberal people.) Initially I didn't talk about guns or hunting or anything, but as conversations drifted to country living I dropped terms like "self-reliance" and got supeisinf reactions. People started talking about guns...

    Hydrostatic shock

seen first hand the difference in rifle vs pistol. Seen a .45 hit an arm and just stop at the humerus, seen .38 in the chest miss heart and lung and just cause a hole, seen .22 in the abdomen cause as much injury as a splinter. Ouch, but no perforation, minimal bruising and no organ damage...

    Another arms ban

like I said, the second oldest argument is weapons control. Guns, knives, swords, whatever... Governments like disarmed and docile people. Funny, the 2nd ammendment is the 2nd oldest argument. ("Thog! No bring spear in cave! Thog want spear! Etc...) The 1st, the right to free speech covers...

What would make a good "shop" gun?

Ultralight SW titanium revolver in a hip holster. .38 or .44 They're a pain to shoot but I've shot the 44 and it's okay. Super light weight though. Like wearing a cell phone on your hip. Small enough to draw from multiple positions and enough heat to do the job. Keep a shotgun with a rail...

    Castle Laws and Bicylces

now I want to make a bicycle frame entirely out of workable firearms welded together! Triangle made from 2 shotguns and the downtube a rifle pointed down with the rider sitting on the buttstock! SBR's to the side as handlebars, revolvers as pedals... Couldn't say it's concealed! Hahahhahahahaha

Best way to secure a bedroom door?

put some pretty pretty vases that break real easy on the windowsills.made it hard to sneak in or out when I was a kid And, you can see their absence from outside. (a warning not to enter/ bump into a thief. Short of replacing the door with a heavy, solid core a bar jam is the best you can do...

Outrageous school assignment - please help this child

I'd start by saying; The argument to ban weapons from the masses is not new. This is a century old argument from the ban on peasants owning swords in medevil Europe to the creation of martial arts and the innovation of turning farm tools into lethal weapons in Japan... Remember, if there were no...

Required to inform officers when traveling with unloaded, non carried firearms?

good case of shuddup a you mouf. If your pulled over and start blabbing how your travelling, visiting you cousin, going to the movies etc you could tie yourself to that story and null the interstate travel exemption. Don't volunteer information you don't have to. Dad always said, don't bring...

    Best Way To Store Ammo

a large, wheeled igloo cooler with dessicant. Don't know about mil spec or airtight but holds water without leaking so should hold it out too, doesn't look like ammo so no one will immediatly think to steal it, I can wheel the whole thing out to my truck without advertising that I'm going shooting.
