I just built a(nother!) AR, this time using a 1/8 twist polygonal rifled 16" stainless barrel. Took it out to the range for an extended test. Function is perfect with the different kinds of ammo I tried (Hornady Training 55gr and Brown Bear 55gr).
However - while the Hornady grouped...
Anyone got any experience with one of these?

Specifically wondering how it feels/how much creep reduction there is over an average stock trigger....is it a worthy upgrade?
Everyone always raves how important it is to have a free floating barrel for accuracy - usually achieved by a freefloating rail/forearm setup. I can see how this is the case when using a receiver mounted optic...but what about when using rail mounted back up iron sights?
I don't see much...
I'm going to go and shoot a local action rifle match soon. As I understand it, its a multistage event with targets from spitting distance out to 200.
I am planning on using my M&P15T. I currently don't have a scope on this rifle - any recommends, without breaking the bank, for this type of...
Anyone done any business with these guys? I'm thinking of buying a pretty pricey rifle from them mail order, as always with the internet, good to get some feedback before dropping the hammer on the deal.
When I'm on the fence about trying to justify a new gun purchase to either myself or the missus, if its a caliber I don't own, I seem to have adopted a tactic of buying the ammo first. If I do this, it seems to ensure the purchase is made sooner rather than later :) Sort of keeps me focused...
...brand new Russian steel cased 7.62/308 is currently going for 39 cents a round or so. 1980's era surplus ammo (such as Portuguese) can be found for around the same price, if not slightly cheaper. The old surplus stuff sometimes looks a bit rough with corroded spots on it - but not usually...
I just bought a new Choate side folder and notice its got a a milimeter or so play in it when locked out. Is this normal? I guess I could fix it with a shim or something, but if its not normal, might send it back.
I am going to sell one of my firearms. I know if going across State lines, you must ship to an FFL; however, as I understand it having been on the ATF website, I can ship *direct* to a resident of my own State (FL) so long as I have no cause to believe the person purchasing is not a criminal...
I've got a rifle with a recommended barrel life of 6000 rounds. It's had that through it and more, and it shoots just as well as it always has.
So how do I know when its worn out and needs replacing? Is it just that your accuracy nose dives? Also, is it dangerous to shoot a barrel past its...
Hey guys,
I was wondering, why are people opposed to having to register their guns with local authorities?
What I mean by that is - everything else stays the same as it is right now - ccw permits ok, assault weapons ok, no limit on guns owned, ok....but you just have to register them and...
