Marlin 60 question (weak hammer strikes)

I have the 795 and have had pretty good shooting with it. One no-fire with remington hollowpoints. I tried the round several times so I am pretty sure it was that and not the rifle. I had just taken the action apart and buffed everything nicely with a dremel and some 1000 grite sandpaper...

    Firing in a vacuum

And if you were at the space station "outside".... If you threw your gun out in front of you it would loop back and hit you in the back.... And that first website is ridiculous...nice use of silly pictures, catch phrases, and facts that sound outrageous...I am familiar with the stuff and...

    Firing in a vacuum

there is no pressure because you need atmosphere for pressure waves (sound). The gun would fire as everyone has said because the powder contains its own fuel and oxidizer. The bullet would continue as fast as it leaves the muzzle until it hit something. The shooter would be spinning in...

    Model 70 with slight rust!

I have a pre-64 Model 70 in 264 win mag probably in the "great" condition category, and unfortunatley it got some rust on it. I was able to clean it off and now there is some of the bluing missing from the rust in a few different spots. Is it worth rebluing and taking off the old finish or...

    Putting a Air-Rifle scope on a 22lr?

I went to walmart and got a centerpoint scope for 50 bucks. It comes with the rings and is for a .22... I put it on my marlin 795. Took me about 20 min to sight it in at about 75 yards. It wasa good out to 100 and the rings have held up for the last 3 times shooting.

Rusty old gun (faint of heart may want to skip this one)

are you using regular oil or a bore cleaner, and what size steel wool? I just did this with a couple of guns and it works really well. I was using LSA military cleaner/oil and I rubbed the gun down with the LSA and let it soak for a little, then went in with thick steel wool-type scrubbing...

I am looking for some info on the best value rounds for target shooting/ plinking with my rifles which are chambered in 30-06 spr and 30-30. I usually use a box of the core lokt remingtons for the 06, and winchester 30-30 winchester for the other gun...(I haven't shot these guns in about 4...

Has anyone "special ordered" a gun from walmart?

hey woof. You can call and they can pull it up on their computers and tell you over the phone... As far as small gun stores go, I noticed they are about the same as the larger ones such as cabellas, sportsmans, and bass proshops; however wally world is still 30 bucks cheaper. (which I can...
