I used to load up a ROA for July 4th with as much powder as it would hold then put a wad on top the press it a little bit. It'll hold the powder and make a bigger bang with the wad. Of course without a projectile it allowed more room for extra powder. o_O

Now the Colt 2nd Gen SS 1851 (second model) I have I probably would say is rather rare as only 490 of them were made. A Colt 2nd Gen SS 1861 would be crazy rare with only 8 made but I don't have one of those.

The Belgian Centaur is another one I have that I'd say is not rare but not readily available.

I was curious about the magnetism of my SS BP revolvers. It was a mixed bag. All four SS ROAs are of what I would call "medium" magnetism as compared to "strong" magnetism of a steel revolver. The 1860 and 1851 SS Colts exhibited no magnetism on the cylinders and grip frames but had "medium"...
