Try to explain more:
1. I was using my progressive Lee press as a single stage press. So I was just resizing and depriming.
2. When it became 'sticky' I disassembled the resizing/depriming die and took out the decapper.
It is a Lee Carbide die and I don't use any lube since it's 9mm brass...
I reload using a Lee Classic Turret Press. I have used the same 9 mm die set for the last 3-4 years. Not sure how many I've loaded - maybe 2-3,000 a year.
Tonight it was very difficult operating my full length sizer - I was just using the sizer to take out the old primer and put in a new...
I have to agree it must have been a squib.
I learned quite a lot through this experience and thankfully no harm. I guess the 'big guy' was looking after me.
thanks for all your input.
HKGuns - you are right the slide did not lock and I had to manually lock it. I believe the brass came out so I thought it was OK. I also looked at the ramp area and did not see the bullet.
twofifty - I took a thick hex wrench and just tapped it with a hammer. Popped out easy.
Very grateful...
I'll have to inspect the bullet when I get home tonight to learn more. I double check my powder loads: (1) load powder and put in tray; (2) using a stick I measure the powder level in each brass (I mark the stick to a level commensurate with the amount of powder I want).
Very lucky to have...
Was shooting my SA RO 1911 .45 ACP today and shooting lead, RN bullets - loaded with 4.2 grains of Bullseye, 230 gr bullet (can't recall primer - I'll check when I get home). Loaded 8 rounds and thought I fired all - target was shot up so I could not count. Changed magazines and the first...
I live in Washington state and will be visiting our daughter in Madison. I wanted to check to see what kind of ammo is available and where.
Is the supply any different than it is here in WA?
I follow our local gun trader website closely (OK - daily). Lot of glocks, springfields, sigs, etc. for sale. With all the Taurus bashing why are there not more used Taurus pistols for sale? (would love to buy a used Taurus 1911)
Saw a 24C for a reasonable price. I already have a G22 that I enjoy shooting. Thought about getting a G35.
Any thoughts on a G35 v. a G24C? (I shoot in a Action Pistol League and mostly for fun otherwise).
For competition something with a little longer barrel would help. The G17 is only .5" longer than the G19. Would make a better competition gun- the G17.
CDNN has a Taurus 1911 38 super for $399.
I am so tempted to buy it and start reloading 38 super.
Anyone shoot this gun and have any feedback on either the gun or 38 super ammo?
I just bought a G34, 4 magazines, kydex holster and 4 single mag pouches for $525 FTF sale. Excellent condition.
I know someone who bought a new one for almost $700 with taxes, shipping and FFL fees.
I would ask at least $600
