Bird's head grip for J frame?

For some odd reason I have become curious about bird's head grips. While i've been contemplating a new acquisition like one of the Uberti short barrel 357 models, does anyone know of a BH style grip for a J frame round-butt revolver?

If you could only have three guns...

    1. S&W 66 4" 357 - best balanced revolver I own. 2. Winchester 94 .30-30 - my SHTF rifle and with Williams sights I'm getting better with it. 3. HK USP 9mm - the most reliable piece of plastic I own.

    Perfect Packin' Pistols?

I like my S&W model 66-7 4" loaded with either 357 mag leverevolution for woods carry or 38+p SWCHP of social work is expected. Cross carried in an Uncle Mike's pancake with two speedloaders.

Is Desert Eagle a good gun for protection in the woods?

10mm you never heard of a rifle sling? Put me in the camp that if I'm undergunned with a 4" k-frame 357 then I'd rather have a 30-30.

    Best Low-Range .40 Carry Pistol

Smith and Wesson M&P 40c (compact) is the same size as the glock 27. There's a version of the gun that has an external safety if he's a belt and suspenders kind of guy :)

Wolf Springs and Hi Power Slide Lock

Thanks for the replies. The newer MecGar mags can "intermittently" (1 out of 15 times) keep the slide open when firing but not when trying to keep the slide open by racking it back on an empty mag. The Browning mag definitely has more spring strength than the MecGar. Maybe MecGar uses a...

Wolf Springs and Hi Power Slide Lock

Recently received an Israeli Kareen HP clone. Came with a MecGar 15rd mag and wouldn't lock back on it empty. Tried two new MecGar 15s and neither would work. Browning 13rd mag worked fine though. Would installing a Wolf +10% mag spring in the 15rd mags help salvage them?

    Looking into a Hi Point

Check out Sarco (www.sarcoinc.com) - they have lots of old military/police surplus sidearms from around the globe. Right now they're offering a good-condition used Arcus 94 hi-power clone (9mm) for $225, Star Model 30's (9mm) for $250, and new Rock Island 1911 45's for $350. If he isn't...

Gun Novice - Need HELP clearing a jam (Ruger SR-9)

Sorry to hear that someone else's advice led to the issue. But glad you were able to get it resolved. Don'y let it discourage you from gaining experience and interest in the hobby!

Gun Novice - Need HELP clearing a jam (Ruger SR-9)

So you wouln't have Ford look at it to make sure you didn't throw off the alignment etc? Sheesh. The guy got a live round stuck in his breech. Lord knows what happened to the barrel throat etc. Not saying it was a factory defect but would not consider the gun safe until inspected properly for...

    M&P 45 Advice - Any Good?

Thanks everyone. Went ahead and got a nicely used M&P45 with a broken in trigger. I shoot much better with it than I thought. Thanks!

    Most reliable semiauto pistols

Ruger Mark II. I have 10 years and over 10000 rounds through it. At about 7000 started getting FTEs, replaced the extractor claw with a Volq Ti and its back to flawless. The old steel claw was worn to a nub! My HK USP9 will eat any ammo - even the horrible zinc plated Ruskie stuff that my old...

Gun Novice - Need HELP clearing a jam (Ruger SR-9)

All the gun safety posts aside... A few months ago I purchase a Ruger SR9c. The gun had several problems out of the box. The slide would not cycle all the way back, leading to FTE and jams similar to the one the OP describes. Thought it was a recoil spring assy issue but swapped it out with a...

    M&P 45 Advice - Any Good?

Well, I'm really thinking I want to get a plastic 45. Been agonizing over all the choices out there, especially the models from the old Joint Combat Pistol competition. So far, the M&P 45 is in the front running. However, I own an M&P 40c and am not the hugest fan of the trigger (haven't...

    Ruger P95 vs. Ruger SR9?

I bought an SR9C for IWB carry. I had never really been able to IWB carry my XD or Glock. However, the SR9 is just the right thinness to work. Earlier tonight I shot out an M&P with a SR9 to see which one was the easier shooter - both me and my buddy were more accurate with the SR9. I...

    sig 229 sas questons

Hmm. I had both a 226 in 40 and a 229 SAS in 40. Traded the 229, kept the 226. Main reason? The 229 was the same weight as the 226 so I'd rather have the larger grip and longer sight radius of the 226. My pants would be dragged down as much as the 226 would too. So ended up never carrying...

Advice Needed - XDm 40 compact or Glock Gen 4 23?

OP Thanks for all the replies. To clarify, both the P229 and the SR9c are new guns to me, only put a few hundred rounds through each. I'm needing a larger gun to carry during winter - I carry a snub 340M&P during the summer. I'm a fan of the 40 which has made me rethink the 9mm SR9. As...

Advice Needed - XDm 40 compact or Glock Gen 4 23?

Here's another "choose" thread :) I'm trading in my two "larger carry" pieces - a SIG P229 in 40 and a Ruger SR9C. I have a P226 in 40 and just like it better for home defense. My other 9mm is a HK USP9 but I don't think the 2000SK is worth as much as it retails for. So the two guns I'm...
