    dan wesson

I have owned a Dan Wesson 15-2 for many years. It has taken deer, hogs, and a feral dog. It is tremendously accurate and naturally w/different length of bbls you cannot make a better choice. Good luck w/your DW.

    looking for a hog rifle.

I shoot .44 Mag 1894 Marlin and and a Ruger RedHawk in .44 too. Have a ghost sight on the carbine and it's real fast. Loves 240 gr. Winchester White Box. About to start reloading as this ammo is pretty pricey. Short rifles are great...Marlin 336 is great hog medicine, if you do your part. Ammo...

Citori with Nickle finish and laminated stock

I would own one in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong...I really like the old stuff too! But, there is a forever cool factor to that thing! Oh Suzy Q!!

    help picking out a o/u

I traded for a Citori White Hunter 12ga. last year, my first. It was a great gun, just so heavy that it didn't work for me. So, my advice would be weight and fit. Lots of real good iron out there. Miroku builds the Citoris, and they also marketed their own, which is a VERY similar type clone...

Black Bear Defense Weapon for an Old Woman?

Mom and bear defense Glad you are working this issue for her. Let me opine by what I think I would do, not meaning to sound as if I'm talking down to anyone. First, I would get a rough dog, I have an Airedale female, Oorang sized, that will act as both warning and deterrent. That would allow...

Elk hunting with a .44 Mag Handgun

Haven't experienced elk...yet, but hunted/killed both WT's and hogs with .44 mag. It is a great round and have used both CorBon and Garrett Hammerheads. As previously stated, practice ALOT and enjoy. It is a very true and "primitive" method and I love it.

    Deer/hog gun?

I have killed hogs with both...but, I sure like my 7-08. But, both are real effective killers. Head and spine area shots...boom, boom, out go the lights!

Help me get the best .357MAG revolver.

I shoot a 15-2 Dan Wesson w/6"bbl. If you have never shot one, do so before you buy if you get an opportunity. Triggers are awesome and the overall balance is very comfortable. Will keep it as it has thousands of rounds remaining to be shot thru it!

    Ruger 44 carbine

Gas tube is probably fouled. Might go to the Ruger forum on this.

Why Aren't Pump Action Rifles Popular?

I owned a 7600/30.06 for years. Would shoot 1 1/2-2" groups. But the recoil on the thing kicked so that I really didn't enjoy it as I got a "little" older! So, I moved it and bought a 7mm-08 bolt gun and really enjoy the difference. That pump was fast, but my personal hunting styles have...

Will blued revolvers ever become widely available new again?

For me, blued is all that I keep. I do not have anything that I perceive to be shiny in dark places. I shoot/hunt with a Dan Wesson 15-2 that is near black. All things are choices, and we all generally make the ones that work for each of us. So, to me, it's all opinion. But above all, quality...

    .44 Mag WWB for Hunting?

I shot a big doe last year w/Ruger 96/44 in .44 mag. I was shooting Hornady LeverEvolution. She did not take one step, but was DRT. Range was about 70 yds. Obviously a little longer bbl, but results were deadly. I have shot large hogs with .44 Mag CarBons and they didn't go 15'. I think...
