I know that there is a simple explanation for it but why is the powder charge heavier for lighter projectiles?
Example;
44 Mag.
180 gr. Hornady XTP ( Maximum load w/ IMR 4227 is 29.0 grains )
240 gr. Hornady XTP ( Maximum load w/ IMR 4227 is 24.0 grains )

Has anyone used this powder/bullet weight combination before? I can find seperate data for each one but not for this combination. Just looking for a min. starter load to work from. Any suggestions............ The projectiles were a bonus in a buy for other reloading stuff and my 44 Mag. is the...

I just picked up an old muzzleloader while down in Arkansas last week and while I have been able to find some info on it, as always I;m counting on the vast knowledge of my fellow High Roaders to fill in the blanks! I have posted a few pics.
OK my highly knowledgeable forum peers. This is a pistol that a friend inherited from his late Grandfather. I know a good bit about guns but have never seen anything like this pistol. I was really amazed with the trigger that folds up against the frame.
