I finally got around to sending my Dillon Square Deal B Back to Mothership. Scheduled to return to me next Wednesday. I'll be out of town; it will still be waiting for me when I get home. It was suggested here to consider sending it back. It was $85 plus shipping. I shipped it out last...

    Dad's old knife

Got this knife from my Dad when he passed. It’s an old k-bar. Still solid. It’s incredibly sharp on one end of the blade and dull on the other. Was thinking of sharpening it tonight after dinner. I can remember him with this knife my entire life.

    Holes in the Stairs

Traveled to Hawaii last week at the last minute due to a hard down emergency. When walking up stairs I saw this: There were other holes as well. Likely the stairwell was ventilated on December 7th. Seems somebody would have gotten around to fixing it. Looks like a 20mm?

    400 Corbon Why?

Title says it all. Going through my dad’s things I found loaded 400 Corbon Ammo, brass, dies, 1911 barrel, and 40 caliber bullets. Never heard him talk about this caliber and we talked guns all the time. Left me wondering if he tried it, and then forgot it. For some reason I’m not too...

    375 versus 38-55 Brass

I have a bunch of .375 Winchester and 38-55 brass. Leftover from my dad’s estate. Looks the same to me. Got to looking around and 375 was derived from 38-55 but with a thicker case? Wouldn’t modern brass the difference be negligible? Measured and got .01 for 375 and .008 for 38-55 so there...

    RCBS Support

Last year I got a new RCBS Charge Master Supreme. Found the interface on the device clunky at best. Designed by those who never reloaded ever. However the phone app worked well enough. For everything else I refer to the manual. Which also can be clunky. The problem at hand was my phone...

Too Hot or Not 45 acp

Out of work til the 22nd. Spending the time sorting out things that belonged to my dad. He said before he passed he has 45acp ammo that he loaded too hot. He suggested shooting them in the winter. Found the box he was talking about. A 185 grain bullet behind 8.5 grains of Unique. My dad...

    Colt Gold Cup

Received this at my dad’s passing in August. A Colt Gold Cup National match, 80’s vintage. It has all the National Match things. Series 70, nice trigger, a nickel finish of some sort. All the things you read about the Gold Cup. A couple questions. what type of finish is this? Factory or...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

It would seem that Garmin is getting into the chronograph game with their new Xero C1. I’ve own Garmin stuff for years. GPS of course, and smart watches. Pre-production reviews seem to indicate a winner. As accurate as Labradar and more forgiving in a small package. i am going to order one...

    Found Gold Today

I was going through three large bins of reloading manuals that I removed from my Dad’s house after he passed away in August. Then I came across something I was unable to locate thus far. His gold. First entry 5/10/84 and last entry 12/21/21. First entry 44 mag with 8.5 grains of unique...

    S&W 686 Wood Grips

Want to ditch the rubber grips on my S&W 686 in favor of wood. The rubber works well enough, just hate the look and feel of rubber. The problem is that most wood grips leave a bit to be desired for those with big hands. Meaning they force my index finger to be tight against the trigger guard...

    Old Pocket Knife I Found

Found this when demolishing an old building. Probably lost by my great uncle who died in 1969. Interesting knife. I wanted to share the find. I will be looking into its source more. The blade was pretty ground down.

    Reloading 356 Versus 358 Winchester

This thread doesn't need to be very long I hope. It is my understanding and research seems to confirm 356 and 358 are the same except one has a rim (356) and the other does not. If so I can reload 356 with 358 dies? What does our corporate knowledge say? And thanks. Going through my dad's...

Manurhin PPK/S 380 What do I Need to Know

Got three Manurhin PPK/S pistols from my dad. A 380, 32, and a 22. What do I need to know about these. I have read history, their license from Walther, and company history. But what are practical points? what do they like? What to be careful about. Read all sorts of things, but what do...

    Luger What Should I know

Picked up a Lugar yesterday. Never really handled one too much. All matching. What should I know about this pistol? Safe handling and stuff like that. The practical stuff. If someone wants to add history no issues. Really looking for lessons learned. Thanks.

    Who Loads for 225 Winchester

Slowly bringing the rifles home that my dad gave me. This week it was a Savage 340 I think. Anyhow this is reloading and not rifle country. I wanted to know corporate knowledge of 225 Winchester? My dad said he got it because people said it wasn’t a good cartridge. I have his reloading...

    Another Sword Thread

Was visiting my dad today and he gave me the family heirloom sword. It belonged to John Buchanan. Civil war veteran. My great great great grandfather. The global knowledge here is pretty good. Anyone that could help identify info about it would be appreciated. Thanks.

    S&W Model 41

My dad is getting older, 90 next month. I visited on Tuesday and he said he wanted to transfer his pistols to me. Took care of that today. Most interesting was his model 41. Comes with two top ends. One with fixed and another scoped. Who has one of these and what advice would one have for...
