Does anyone have a picture of a 10mm round next to a 5.7mm FN round?

I'm trying to get a visual size comparison.

    Modern Falling block rifles

Ruger makes the No. 1, they're pretty slick. I'd consider one chambered for larger cartridges (.375 H&H, .416 Rigby, 45-70 Gov, etc.). Of course blued steel and walnut is a plus. Also, a good diopter sight would be nice too.

    Off Center Firing Pin

I don't believe I've ever shot a firearm that didn't hit the primer at least slightly off center. I'd consider it normal; it shouldn't cause any problems. However, you should worry if the firing pin is either piercing the primer or too shallow. It's only too shallow if it's failing to ignite the...

    Help Comparing Field of View

I'm looking at various acogs, and I'm trying to get an idea of how large their field of view (FOV) is. I have a POSP 4x scope for reference. I'm trying to see which has a a wider FOV at 100 yds. My POSP has a 4x magnification with a 6 degree FOV. This translates out to a 70m FOV at 1000m. The...

    PTR 91 GI Rifle

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct954.aspx Anyone ever shot one of these, how are they? How true are they to the original HK's? More specifically, how is the trigger group? It's polymer and appears to be made in house; I'm curious on the quality. Also I've seen various...

Why does the Ar-15 bolt have so many lugs?

Most rifles get by on only two large lugs. What's the advantage of eight smaller lugs? It would seem there's an advantage, seeing as many rifles now use this style.

    4.6x30mm HK

http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProducts.aspx?pageNum=1&tabId=3&categoryId=20217&categoryString=653***691*** When browsing through Midway's ammo section I noticed that they had 4.6x30mm. Why are they selling this? Are there even guns in the U.S. that will fire the round? Surely the...

    Norinco Ammunition

Back when it was legal to import Chinese ammunition, what was the price like compared to American ammo? I presume it was cheaper, but how much so?

Milled Polish Underfolder or Arsenal SGL-21

I bought an SGL-21 and am quite happy. The chromed hammer forged barrel is a plus. It has the nicest sights I've ever seen on an AK. The muzzle brake is a direct copy of an AK-103 brake. Thus it's more effective than th Chinese knock-offs. Having shot the gun with and without the brake, I can...

    AIM vz24

My friend recently ordered one from AIM, and I got to shoot/inspect it last weekend. The rifle was in good shape, including the bore. The wood was mismatched colourwise; however, all the numbers matched. Offhand at 200yds a 14" plate wasn't hard to hit at all. In short, they're solid rifles.

    Similarities/differances AK47/74?

The ammo is the main difference. Ak-74's are usually chambered in 5.45x39.5mm, while Ak-47's/AKM's are usually chambered in 7.62x39mm. Some parts aren't interchangeable. However, I believe the furniture, fire control groups, sights, and many other small parts are interchangeable. Basically...

http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scopes/posp/posp-4x24-w-black-finish-1000-meter-rangefinder-rifle-scope-ak-version.html Anyone ever use one of these? Are they a good scope for a 7.6x39 Ak? How durable are they? Do they keep zero? How is the field of view? How about clarity? I know it's...

Why does everyone seem to think guns need registration?

It seems almost everyone I ever talk to about firearms is absolutely convinced that they have to be registered in order to be legal. Granted these are usualy non-gun types, though occaionaly I'll hear someone with actual firearms excperience quote this myth :what: I know that there is...
