I work in a smaller machine and fab shop and I do most of the materials purchasing and all metal prices are low with no issue getting aluminum and most metals. The airline industry is very depressed right now and they use quite a bit of aluminum. Some grades are more difficult to get like 7050...
I have an inexpensive set of 8" digital calipers that I have used daily for a few years with no problems. I am a Design Engineer in a small machine shop and come from a machinist background. If I want to measure something more closely I will use one of my mics. I have a set from 0-1 up to 11-12...
I have the Officer sized GSG 1911-22 and it has been a nice addition. It shoots bulk box ammo with no issues and is fairly easy to break down and clean if you follow the directions. It isn't as accurate as my Ruger MKII but not too bad.
I have Zebrano wood grips on my CZ85 Combat and I bought them from Marschal grips in Budapest. The will make them from scratch out of any exotic woods they carry and any finish. Check out the variety in the link below. It takes a few weeks but well worth the time and cost...
I have a 9mm that takes Glock magazines. It has been reliable and hasn't missed a beat. My step sons love to do mag dumps using the 33 rd mags and it has held up. The accuracy is fairly decent at 50 yds and I can hit a target at 100. It is more accurate at 100 than I am because of my old eyes...
Switching to the Wolf springs is one of the best things you can do. I ordered some nice grips from Marschal grips in Budapest. They make some of the nicest I have seen.
I have a set on an ATI 1911. They feel just the same as VZ and they are much less. G10 is G10 and my shop used to cut a ton of it for a company that rebuilt large electrical motors. G10 is fairly inexpensive unless you are in the gun industry it seems.
I bought my on Amazon Prime and if I...
I have a Russian commercial double stack in 9x18. Very nice shooter and I would love to find some reasonable priced mags for.
I also have a PA63 in 9x18 that is a great gun that I paid very little for.
I always recommend Marschal grips for any of the comblock and Europe pistols. My CZson and...
Looks like you and you're family had a great time. 22or only days can be very productive. I like to take my Ruger MK II and 1911 O officer sized GSG pistols @15 to 25yds and then my Savage MKII bolt rifle @100yds.
I bought one several years ago too. It had issues out of the gate and was beating itself to death. I bought the Colt Defender springs and Wolf main springs and it has been extremely reliable since then. I had to trim the main spring back to get it to lock open. It gets carried occassionaly now...
I ordered mine directly from Colt. Every place I checked it was on backorder so I called them up and they were in stock and got to me in a few days. I used the ATI bushing and I haven't had any issues with it. If my accuracy starts to fade I will replace.
I used the spring assembly and the ATI spring assembly was sub-standard. It basically beat itself to death. I also used a Wolf mainspring but I can't remember the weight. 20 or 21lbs I think. I will have to dig through some boxes and see if I can find it. I had to cut a little off of it so it...
I changed over to Colt Defender spring set years ago and have never had any more issues with mine. I also use the stainless Defender mags. You might read through this to see if you can get more knowledge on the Titans.
Mine has about 1200 rounds through it now and I am real happy with it...
I have this upper and it has been very accurate for me. I am in the process of finding a good load for it. It is a little barrel heavy but I am using mine as my coyote rig and shooting it off a bit-pod. It seems to like the heavy bullets so far.
