    DPMS Panther Lite 16?

So guys, I'm in the market for a lightweight AR-15. I want it with an A1 upper. Sort of a KISS rifle. I'd get a Colt Sporter II, but those things are like $1500 and up, which is way more than I can pay for this. Especially since I eventually want to get it SBR'd. And so I happened upon the...

The best "value" in a .22 rifle?

Well, I'd say the inexpensive-without-being-cheap option in clearly the Model 60, although I don't personally own one. Might rectify that, but I don't know. On the other hand, there's the 10/22, which is for .22's what the AR is for semi-auto rifles. Sure, you can spend mucho $$$$ tricking it...

Can anybody recommend a good practice .22?

I think the Hornets are something like $95-150 depending on the unit. I couldn't say for sure, because I don't see the point of a 2-stage trigger on a .22lr. But, that's just me. At least with a 10/22 it's so modular in nature, he can start with the base gun and Tech Sights, and mod it...

Can anybody recommend a good practice .22?

New/used 10/22. Get a set of Tech Sights TSR-100's. And a two-stage trigger group from, like, Hornet. Mission accomplished. :) Then you can add on to it as you go along, upgrade to a nicer barrel or a different stock or whatever tickles your fancy.

    Favorite .22LR Ammo

Depends on the rifle, really. Mary Beth seems to really enjoy either Federal Blue-Box bulk-pack, or, oddly enough, Red-box bulk pack ammo the most. Mind you, I haven't fired any Eley or anything through her yet, but it's on the to-do list. The best groups so far were, strangely enough, shot...

    AR pictures...let's see em!

While I don't have a picture of my own yet (Working on that one, check back at the end of January), I have a question for the guys with the ACOG's on their rifles. On the Colt I'm lusting after, I want to put a TA31F-G 4x but I'm worried that although it's a BAC version, I'll get sort of...

    22-a-holics Anonymous

Well so far it's just the Mossberg 351CB, which I love to pieces and I'll never, ever, ever get rid of, and the Romy M1969. Of course, on the short list this spring, after the Mini 14/20 and Mini 30/20, are (In no particular order) a Henry Golden Boy .22 Mag, a Henry Pump-Action .22lr, two...

    Ruger SR-556 or Something Else

I asked almost exactly the same question, I believe it was either here or on PerfectUnion. I decided to go with a Colt 6920, over the Ruger. Not because there is anything wrong with the Ruger, (Which there isn't), and it's not really much more expensive than the Colt is (They can be had...

    Single Six questions?

Hey guys. I decided that I wanted to get a couple new .22's, and so I wanted to get a Stainless Single Six with a 5.5" barrel and fixed sights for my Christmas present. However, the Ruger site doesn't even list any stainless SS's with fixed sights. Did they not make this version? I...

but wait, aren't COLTS the best thing since sliced bread?

Well. I can only hope that everyone on the internets reads this, takes it to heart, sells off their old Colts and the price of new Colts plummets. Especially in time for January when I want to buy mine. :D Who knows, they might even be as cheap as WASR's! Or Mosins!

Long Action: .30-06 vs. .270 Win vs. .308 Win

Whoops, forgot I started this thread. Yes, I have not yet bought any new rifle CZ's yet. Though the pretty much unanimous answer seems to be the .30-06. Which is cool, because I gave away the .270 to some guy at the range today, for free. Hope I made his day.

    Some more gratuituous Mossberg shots.

Hey guys, just got done cleaning ol' Mary Beth after the range trip today. Shot some pretty sweet groups with her. So here we go. First group is the initial, 5-shot group, shot kneeling, braced against the side of the bench. 40-grain CPHP CCI MiniMags. Range was 50 yards. V-22A at 6x...

One of those new HKGP101's with the matte stainless finish. And a Single Six to back it up.

Long Action: .30-06 vs. .270 Win vs. .308 Win

Hey guys. Have another hard question for you, fortunately, I already picked the rifle to go with it. :D I was in the Funstore the other day, and they had a CZ-550 FS there, in 9.3-something mm. Now, I have a serious, serious soft spot for Mannlicher stocks, so naturally I decided I had to...

    Ruger or Colt?

Well guys, I think I've more or less settled on the Colt. Doesn't mean I'm not getting the Ruger, because I will. But that'll be either this coming fall, or next spring, or maybe even later, when it's matured a little bit. Now I just have to play the waiting game.

    Ruger or Colt?

I'm not sure where you guys are finding lower prices than about $1200 for a NIB 6920, but I'd sure like to know. I'd rather not get a used one, even though I could probably pick one up for under $1k. I'd just as soon spend the extra few $$$ and have a brand-new one that nobody's ever fed...

    Ruger or Colt?

So that's two Colts and a Ruger. It's not helping that I've heard you can snag a NIB 6920 for under a grand, although I haven't seen anywhere with prices like that yet. rcmodel, where in eastern KS? Leavenworth here! :D

    Ruger or Colt?

Hey guys. I'm mulling over my new AR purchase, coming up at the end of January here. So far I've narrowed the contenders down to a NIB Ruger SR-556, which I can have for about $1550, or a NIB Colt LE6290 for around $1300. If I get the Colt, though, it'll end up wearing a KAC RAS foreend...

    Mossberg 351CB Range Report

I'm certainly happy with the way it shot, (minus the flyer of course). It's an older rifle, to be sure; what I've seen quoted is they only made the 351CB from '69 to '71. They cost $49.95 new. Given that the Mossberg ad for the 351C/KA models states to "Clean an automatic action after 500...

    Mossberg 351CB Range Report

So I got bored this morning, packed up the SKS, the P89, the Romy M-69, and the Mossy and took them out to the range. Skipping over all the boring bits and getting to the meat 'n potatoes of the matter, here's the second-best grouping of the day, from the Mossberg 351CB. First three went...
