In my own personal experience there was a night and day difference between my first few years as a gun owner and shooter being self taught (albeit w/ quite a bit of reading), vs. when I started taking classes. Night and day.
If you haven't taken at least say a 3-day basic handgun class, you...
I like ameriglos. I like the pro operator, if you want a little faster front sight I have the pro operator rears and a proglo front on my g19 and I like that setup a lot.
One thing I'd add about window film is I had two companies come out to price it out, and both said it does not work properly unless you include an "attachment system", essentially an extremely wide application of a special caulk that covers at least 1/4" (and preferably 1/2") of both the glass...
Most of my doors with windows in them have double cylinder deadbolts. You can keep a key nearby to open it from the inside in case of emergency. The keys I use for this purpose can ONLY open the door from the inside, so if someone in my home were to take the key they wouldn't be able to get in...
+1
Funny how we all interpret things differently, when I read stories like this I don't think of the need to stash guns around my house, I think I'm glad I have high quality doors and locks and I keep them locked (and have two large dogs).
I do carry quite a bit inside my house. I have an LCP...
Not sure if the implication was I was asking a stupid question ... their commercial vs. resi offerings only differ cosmetically as far as I know, I'm assuming that is their commercial safe paint job. That is what I was asking.
Just a quick update after a few months of use in case anybody actually uses the search feature ....
I'm pretty happy w/ the Frontpoint system so far, I installed in August, the installation was pretty easy and everything worked correctly out of the box and has worked well since. System is very...
My Sturdy Safe does not have it. I went through the same thought process as you - you lose interior space, it costs more, and I'm not sure in a fire it will truly protect the contents. Plus - truth be told if my house burns down, my guns are replaceable and are the least of my concern.
I...
Edit: Turns out they do have it in LW, and I ordered one earlier today to supplement my V1.

To the OP - the V7 LW I linked is what I'd recommend you get. I like my V1 and it's been a great carbine, but IMO for a 16" barrel there's no...
If only that was a LW barrel I'd jump on that right now. The new V7 is the way to go, IMO
I agree that if you want the rail, the Magpul stock etc the DD is the way to go and the all-in price is tough to beat. I love my V1, I've taken 2 carbine classes with it and look forward to many more. I...
Wow, nice safe. Brown was one I looked at but ultimately decided I didn't want something that heavy on my floors (if my next house has a slab foundation I may revisit).
Hows the overall fit and finish?
I have a v1. If I were buying now (and may get a second) I'd get a V5, or the V7 (not on the website but they are offering it ... Basically a v5 with the modular rail). I'd get a lightweight barrel.
IMO if you are going to stick with a 16" barrel, might as well get the midlength gas system...
