    CZ 75 questions

I’ve been primarily a Ruger, S&W, Colt, & Remington handgun guy, but these CZ 75 compacts have caught my eye. Can anyone fill me in on that brand as to quality, reliability, customer service, etc.? Is this a decent deal? I know next to nothing about CZ hardware...

    Old Model 51 Remington .380

Inherited this pistol that belonged to my wife’s grandfather (a prominent builder in Taylor, Texas) who carried it almost daily starting 100 years ago. He passed away in 1962. It still has the original box with papers & cleaning tool, but the box has completely fallen into pieces. It has only...

Politifact: Easier to obtain a rifle than it is to cast a ballot

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/mar/29/alex-padilla/it-easier-obtain-rifle-register-vote-alex-padilla-/ How many holes can you find in that argument? And how does this reflect Politifact’s methodology? I believe they (Politicians and politifact) obfuscate the real issues and...

A nice pair for HD, IMO

Both new & unfired... at the moment. Have several hundred rounds of 115 gr. range fodder for function check and several hundred more of 124 gr. (Some of it Federal HST). How many rounds of each do y’all think it is prudent to fire to insure reasonable reliability? Am looking forward to a...

Old Winchester Defender - “tactical” stock?

Decades ago I tried a pistol grip on my old 1200 18.5” pump 12 ga., but the recoil even with 2.75” 00 buck was too uncomfortable, so back on with the original wood buttstock. Now I see there are these so-called tactical stocks with pistol grips.... this one at Brownell’s for $95. Heck, I only...

    Texas Independence Day

Without the RTKABA, there would be no Republic of Texas. I don’t care much for the multitudes of commemoratives, except for this one in particular:

    .22 LR birdshot thru a .22 Magnum?

Of course I know shooting .22 LR bullets through a .22 Magnum does not work. But is there any downside to running standard .22 LR birdshot through my North American .22 Magnum Mini revolver? Is is doable without any detriment to the little gun?

Chicago PD has seized 10,000 guns in 2019

Of course they blame “lax laws” in neighboring states. Besides some shotguns & evil black rifles, they showed off this interesting assortment of handguns at their photo-op. Wonder who got dibs on the 1911?

    Another LCP

Have been carrying a 1st Gen LCP since 2008 and had purchased a Gen2 two years ago to keep as a spare. Never fired that one and gave it to one of my sons for Christmas (the other got a NIB RM380). Paid $310 for the first one, and only $200 for the second. Saw the same model Gen2 at PSA for...

I would like to hear from a local resident who is familiar with the better gun stores in your community. Would like to send a firearm gift to someone in the city and need a reliable & reasonably priced business for an FFL transfer. Thank you for any information.

    Old Browning bolt rifle question

I have what appears to be a Belgian-made Browning Safari bolt action in .30-06 (#7L 42xxx), The metal & bore are "perfect", but the stock has quite a few dings, dents, & scratches (acquired on an Alaska hunt decades ago). I had an almost identical rifle, except in .243 cal. and a "perfect"...
