I just came into a handful of .44 mag 240 grain cast swc. Was going to work up some loads to plink/target practice with. Will shoot them out of both a revolver and lever gun.
I have a few powders to work with, bullseye/2400/unique/231/titegroup.
Anyone have any favorite recipes and/or speeds...
240 gr. 44 magnum. seller does not know hardness rate or if they were lubed. his dad passed away. found them in a cupboard in his reloading area. says container said coated. Any thoughts?
I tried something a little different. I was looking online and found a PDF of an old IMR reloading manual from 2003. Under .44 Mag Rifle, there was data listed for IMR 4895. The recipe called for 28 gr compressed under a 240 grain bullet with a WLP primer. This should generate around 1250 FPS...
