Will a coating on the magazine tube cause any tolerance issues, or would the excess just be shaved off?

So I know about the search function, it gave me some good results on what spray paint to use... but has anyone ever used alumahyde (sold by Brownells) to paint a synthetic stock? The firearm that may get this treatment would be a Traditions Crackshot 22lr. The "Muddy Girl" camouflage ain't...
