3" Federal Hull #000 Buckshot possible Loads?

I have tried some different powders and Loads. Here is a list of the loads I have tried and the results. Any Critique or advice is greatly appreciated. All Loads are using Federal 3" Disc-Base Hull I bought from Ballistics Products. Link Here --> link All Loads are primed with Federal 209A...

Loading musket balls in a shotgun shell

Right now I just can't find the bigger sizes of buckshot or pumpkin balls for sale (though I admit I haven't looked all that hard). I've got some surplus .535 balls I use in my .54-cal muzzleloader. Has anyone ever tried to make a load with these, and knows how many can be fitted into a 2...

    16 gauge buckshot

Any opinions on shooting 16 gauge no 1 buck out of a 1926 Enders Special service sxs shotgun? I know birdshot is fine and slugs are a no-no, but I would think buckshot would be alright since it has less kick than a slug. The gun is in great condition, no cracks in the stock and good bore and action.

Federal Buckshot and Slug Test Data

I found this test data published by Federal while looking for something related. I suspect that others might find it worth a look, so I thought that I would post it. https://le.vistaoutdoor.com/downloads/catalogs/Shotshell_Data_Book.pdf

    Buckshot size vs range

Beginner question here, if 00 buck retains it's energy better at range than smaller shot why do coyote hunters usually use 4 buck for super long shots some close to 70 yards. Can the small number of pellets just not hit with 00? Side question in your opinion which shot size can be pushed to the...

    ricochet buckshot

Hey all we have a bad coyote problem in my residential neighborhood (up against a hillside is where the shot would take place). I have permission from DNR to take any that come inside of treeline as well as all my neighbors already agreeing they would love for me to handle them. MY QUESTION IS...

Federal 3in 000 vs car door

This is a 3in load from 10 feet, and 20% gelatin. The buckshot barely goes 10in into the gel. That surprises me as I thought it would penetrate a little deeper. Of course, the strength of a car door will vary. But it's a good reference. I remember an expert saying Brennekke slugs are for...

What do you load your home defense shotgun with?

In the chamber I keep a 3in Winchester Super-X 24 pellet #1. The tube has seven 3in Federal plated 10 pellet 000 buck in it. Side saddle has 5 Brennekke 1 3/8oz Maximum Barrier Penetrators on it. If I travel I take the #1 out of the chamber and keep the tube loaded. I really like how the #1...

    Cheapest places for slugs/buckshot

I've decided I should probably shoot my shotgun more often... where have you guys gotten affordable slugs and buckshot? I picked up some slugs for $5 a box at cabelas... but $1 a shot still seems kind of expensive. Any input is appreciated!

    Noble Sport/Centurion 2 1/4" buckshot

I have started loading these in my home defense shotgun. I have found them to be very pleasant to shoot, they hold one more round than 2 3/4" shells and they are completely reliable in my mossberg 500. I think they offer a great home defense round alternative to the recoil sensitive. My...

    Suprema 00 Buckshot Review

Hello all, So recently I've begun to get back into shooting shotguns. One of the reasons that I originally fell out of touch with the shotgun community, was the cost of ammunition. If I wanted to shoot at my local range, I had to shoot buckshot or slugs(birdshot was only allowed at the clay...
