I have a National Metallic (Midway brand) rotary drum tumbler. The drum by itself is not available (I asked). Does anybody know if other manufacturer's drums have the same driven surface width (i.e. compatible) size? The Frankford Arsenal drum is available individually ($56, backorder OK)...

Has anybody used a Thumler's Model B rotary tumbler? Its a bit pricier, but is all metal construction, including the drum. The Reviews on Midway are highly positive.
I was cleaning brass yesterday and my green vibrator motor got stuck. I was able to spin it manually and it started working again. I am thinking over its replacement.

I started wet pin tumbling last year after years using dry media vibration tumbling and ultrasonic cleaning been doing that since some time around 2006, before that I washed oily rifle brass in soap and water after sizing, if I even did that.
My current setup is a harbor freight rock tumbler...
For case tumbling, we seem to mostly talk about steel pins, corn cobs and walnut shells. There have been the occasional post of someone using rice or mica, its mostly the "big three".
Does anyone have any experience tumbling brass in other media? Sand. Silicon dioxide. Vermiculite. If so...
