First 1911... Talk me out of (or into) this Kimber

Hey folks, So a few years ago I pretty much finished up my collection of guns that have a legitimate purpose (or, let's be honest... that I can come up a legitimate excuse for). I'm not shopping for my first gun purchased 100% because it will bring me happiness. So I'm looking at 1911's...

Colt Python stainless 4" model ... a 27 year old tale that's not over yet.

I bought this Colt Python new for $750 in March of 1993 from Code 3 Equipment Inc. when I lived in Portland, Oregon. It's my understanding that Colt discontinued the Python in 1990 so maybe this was new old stock purchased from Colt directly or another dealer, but $750 was a lot of money for me...

What does Beretta mean when they say a gun is "Inox" ?

Do they just mean it is stainless steel with a minimum of 10.5% chromium content, max 1.2% carbon ? The way its used by Beretta sometimes it seems like it is part of the brand name, so I wondered if there is any Beretta-specific meaning when they use the word Inox.

    Stainless & Carbon (Mora)

Based on the excellent reputations of the Mora knives that I had frequently read here on THR, I bought two of them about a year ago - one carbon steel blade, and one stainless steel blade. I had read (briefly, not in any tremendous detail) pros and cons about each steel type and figured I’d like...

Removal of Lead Stains - What's Your Secret?

This is my first stainless wheel gun. I would like to remove the lead stains without damaging the finish you can see on the cylinder. Do you have something that works well for you? I would appreciate it if you would share. Thanks!!

Help with choice between two specific AR's?

Hi all- A few weeks ago my wife shot an AR (somebody in another bay offered). She kind of likes the platform, and while it never did much for me previously that she likes it is as good a reason as any to get one out and make it our own. That prices are a lot less odd than about a year or so...
