••LEE 452-235-wc wadcutter in the 45 colt?••

Did a little searching, and doesnt seem to be much on this discontinued mold from lee.
Anyone tried bullets cast from this mold in the 45 colt?

I can only tell you my experience with a similar wadcutter cast from a .452" NOE mold that casts at 250 grains in my .45 Colt. I have loaded them with 4.5gr of Bullseye and am now trying 4.0gr of Bullseye. OAL is 1.380" with a slight roll crimp into the top lube groove.

The .452" 250 grain SWC I use works well in my Ruger Blackhawks/Vaqueros. The thing is no leading is the goal for me. You should slug your bore/throats and see what you have in the firearm you are trying to use. Other brands or older firearms might have a larger bore and you may get leading. They will most likely shoot that WC accurately though.

I still have some of those loaded with 4.6 of bullseye.
Hoping this lee mold will cast bullets that shoot as well as the NOE bullets that i acquired from you.

I acquired one of these lee molds. Drops a nice bullet. I have 54 of them lubed and ready to load.
I will post a few good loads in the future.
I know more than likely this will be for posterity since there is not much out there on this mold

I have a Redding mold block that casts a 250 gr wad cutter and any standard 45 Colt load works well. That mold is a custom mold now but they do make or made a 235 gr wadcutter.

I'd be careful with a statement like that. Assuming you are seating the wadcutter almost fully into the case as is proper, using standard 250gr load data can be very dangerous due to the reduced case capacity of the wadcutter load.

The bullet has a crimp grove so about 1/8" is sticking out of the case,if you tried to seat it deeper you'd bulge the case to where the round wouldn't chamber. Perhaps I should have mentioned that the bullet wasn't designed to be seated flush with the case mouth.

I figure to stick with 45 ACP data or lower colt data and work up. This bullet will only leave 1/8" of bullet out of the case.
