Since it was brought up on another thread about shooting 223/5.56 at 1000 yards I decided to go to the range and film myself shooting. My precision AR15 is currently zeroed for M193 and I dont have any match grade ammo. I got a couple boxes of IMI Razorcore 77 grain from a buddy and from previous range trips with that ammo I knew it would be close enough to my current zero to not worry about it.

Range day was a breezy 64 degree. Wind was a steady 8-10 mph out of the 7ish o'clock and had gusts up above 15 mph. Shooting up this valley can be challenging at times with the wind as the trees dont move much and wind changes can happen quickly downrange. But overall today the wind was a constant .5-.75 mil hold with one time the gusts pushed it out to 4 mils. The Part 2 video I started with my previous .5 mil hold and had to adjust to a 2 mil hold. Elevation at the shooting spot was 1390 feet.

Unfortunately a couple things went wrong today. 1st is my phone scope adapter does not fit over the eye piece of my Bushnell Elite spotting scope. I was able to rig up a rest to have my phone behind the spotter but had to back the spotter down in power a good bit to get footage through it. Second is a mix of the wind and a "machinegun experience" going going down at the next bay over prevented any hits from being really audible. Not that a 77 grain bullet at 1100 FPS is making a large "ding" anyways. But the M1919 and the MP5 nextdoor really blew out the microphone level on the phone.

So in short... sorry the video quality is a bit subpar.

Picture of the rifle along with a Type 56 I picked up this weekend.

Misses were easy enough to spot, so I just assumed the ones I didn't see hit dirt caught the target. Good shooting!
I really need to get back out and do some more formal shooting at longer ranges, plinking rocks is fun but its really hard to see impacts sometimes.
