I saw a 1903A3 at a gun show today and I'd like to know what you folks think of the price...

The tag on it said it was a WWII production with adjustable rear sight. It had a C stock on it. It looked to be in good but not great shape overall.

The price was $595.

I know I didn't give a lot of details, but I don't know a whole lot about 1903s so I wasn't too sure what to look for.

In contrast, this same guy had another 1903A1 sitting right next to listed at $1150 price.

What do you guys think?

Some of the 1903 rifles can be worth several thousand dollars. $595 for the A3 is a decent price if the rifle is in good shape. I have a like new condition 1903 rifle made by Remington in 1941 that is in unfired condition with all original parts, it is a collector rifle only. Because of it's value I would never fire it.

Ouch! I have a 1918 manufacture '03A1 in very good condition that I paid $600 for a few years ago.

That said, I have noticed the trend of price increase for the A3's and would consider $595 a decent price for a decent rifle. A friend of mine paid $550 for his in March; the cleaning kit was still in it! (owner didn't know, and said " Those are never there. If I'd have known, the price wuld've been higher").

Thank you all for the input. Sounds like I shouldn't have let this one go... I've always wanted an 03. Oh well, I'll see if it might still be there tomorrow morning.
