Just go to thinking, about all the pistols I've had and tried over the years:

BHP, Glock, Ruger GP100, SiG 220, M92FS, HK USP, HK P7, Colt's Gov't Model, CZ75...on and on, the one that is still with me after all these years...
'70 Series Gov't Model.

Except for the BHP, which I still regret letting go, the others have never struck me as anything more than a "tool". None have been able to unseat the Gov't Model as my "favorite".

Funny how all the newcomers discuss trigger pull on all the new crop of tactical polymer pistols, but I have yet to find one like the Colt. It's slim, accurate, dead reliable, and simple to detail strip. 80 years and still at the top of the heap as the combat pistol most seen in the hands of the elite.

What a pistol!!!

I recently picked up an XD 45 service, have yet to shoot it, but I bought it for a range gun, and to see what all the fuss was all about. Hope she's a good'un!

I think you will like the XD. My son bought one new a few months ago and while he's out on the road he leaves it with me to shoot. I also have a 1911 US Property made in 1918 which has a great trigger. If I had to compare the triggers on the XD and 1911, I like one as well as the other, but that's an opinion only. I think where the XD would pick up all the marbles and go home is in the 13 + 1 feature.

Hope to try it out this weekend, already got 100 rds WWWB for the initiation!

I got one slightly used with all gear even the stack of paperwork!

I fully expect to be very satisfied with the performance.

I'm "high: on XD fever as well. My Springer .45 ACP has been a winner from
day one, NEVER having any kind'a problem what-so-ever. The biggest type
of problem I can see, is simply feeding the darn thing, It likes too eat all
ammo that I have thrown its way. I have a friend (actually a customer)
who has four Springer XD's; and is currently awaiting his fifth, a Dark
Earth Tone / Black Slide 4" service model in .45 ACP. He would rahter
fight than switch~! :D

I wanted the 5" but I hear they are hard to come by. Finally got tired of waiting for one to show up so I grabbed the 4" for $469. Bad part is, I don't think I get warrenty coverage as I am not the original purchaser:(

Let's see...
My first favorite was my Taurus 94, then my Italian Beretta 92fs, then my USP 45, then USP 9, then USP Expert 45, then my BHP then my COLT XSE
Now, they all co-exist :D

10 Ring,

Sold everything but my Gov't Model, CZ75B. I have some older eirloom types too like an 1898 S&W 38, Safety Hammerless, and '67 Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag.
