How much wear is normal in the bushing area on a 1911 barrel? I have Stainless barreled 1911 in 9mm that is showing wear with less than 100 rounds down the pipe.

None of my .45 caliber 1911's show any noticeable wear in this area.

Practically, the better the bushing fit (meaning more accurate the pistol), the faster you will see contact scratches on the barrel. This shows very easily in a stainless barel, but all barrels will show this.

"wear" is degradation of a material thru use, abuse, bad fit. I doubt that is happening on your gun and it isn't affecting the performance.

Tell us what the barrel looks like after 10K rounds.

PHOTOS!! .. and some mic or caliper readings. You "could" have a problem, but without any datum we all are just slinging guesses into the dark.

When you get the info, you might try posting on the gunsmithing forum. 1911Tuner is a total wizard for anything 1911.

Given that you are sliding steel on steel, you will see marks on your barrel from your bushing. That is normal. As noted, anytime you have surface to surface contact where the two surfaces move relative to one another as a part of the function of the item, then lubrication is necessary or at least prudent.
