Anyone have experience with the 1911's from Sig?
Is there that much difference in quality from, say, a Kimber for the price?

Pictures?

Thanks.

I have both a SiGARMS GSR Revolution STX and a Kimber Custom II...two ends of the spectrum BUT I have seen the Kimber Grand Raptor as well...both nice pistols...my SiG is tighter than the Kimber...no MIM parts in the SiGARMS if that is important to you...I think the SiGAMRS is slightly LESS expensive than a similar model Kimber...I have called both Kimber and SiGARMS Customer Service and preferred SiGs customer service to Kimber's...the GSRs (Revolutions) will not fit in your standard "1911A1" holster unless there is some "give" in the leather holster...this'll get you started!

I looked long and hard at the purchase of a Sig 1911 when they first hit the market. That would be the GSR model. I used the Sig forum for my evaluation. Right from the get-go, the Sig 1911 was having problems.

According to owners and folks in the know about Sig 1911's, the Sig 1911 production was halted, the problems were addressed and hence, you now see the Sig 1911 GSR Revolution. Some people said that the halt had to do with the Caspian components of the Sig 1911.

I'd check the Sig Forum and the 1911 forums for more current info.

I'll pass on the Sig. To roll out a new Sig gun and have it stumble right out of the box is not a confidence buider in my book.

PS. Sig has a lifetime warranty for the original owner while Kimber has a one year warranty. :barf:
