I've been reading the Consolidated 1911 Clinic files.
Side by side photos showing differences in parts design and angle shaping would be very helpful.
ie Mention was made of the several modifications in shape made to the Browning design-- eg the McCormick hammer, and the change in various angles for a roll trigger ("Swenson" modification). The Rowell hammer is described by comparing it to another type of hammer. etc. etc.
