I'd like to mount some type of peep sight on this gun. I DO NOT want to drill and tap to mount this type of sight.

Can I use a Williams peep or will I need to use a Skinner? I'd like the longer sight radius of the Williams, but I don't want to drill for it.

How about a Vernier rear sight on it. If your stock is to nice to mount to get a used beater stock to mount to. Prices run from 70 bucks on up.

All the 1970s vintage Model 94s come already drilled for receiver sights. I put the Williams FP on mine, it's the same sight that fits on the Marlin 336. Lyman hade a nice one, too, but it was considerably more expensive, as I recall, so I went with the Williams. I've never had any problems with it, once it's set, it stays set, and there aren't any external knobs to bet bumped out of adjustment.

That's what I was thinking/hoping.

Thanks for your help/input everyone!

I have a 1976 win.Model 94 in 30-30,and have thought about getting different sight's for it also but I wonder if it will add value or depreciate if I did so .So I haven't yet, my gun only has 15 round's through it though so it's still like brand new waiting for my son to get his first deer with his father in law this year,It's a really nice little gun.I like it more then my Marlin lever gun.If anybody know's about the vale of these please post it.And if modification's will depreciate the value of the gun.

If you get the Williams make sure you get the model for the OLD Winchester 94, not the one for the newer Angle Eject model. They have different mounting holes.

Thanks. I wish Williams made a more traditional front sight.

Go to the Midway site and pick what you like.

I may be unusual -- I have a Lyman Globe sight on my Model 94. That's a tube that unscrews at the back. With the tube you get a sheed of cutouts for different sights -- from posts to rings to crosshairs. You slip one in the tube and screw it shut.

My choice was the widest post, painted white with typewrite correction fluid. I love this sight -- it's precise and fast. In a fast-moving situation, or in dim light, you simply look through the two holes (peep and front tube). For more precise shooting, you perch the target on the top of the front post.

Ordered a new Williams front with a 1/16 brass bead and the 5D. I figured I won't change loads on this gun often once I get it figured out.

Thanks for the help guys.
