In 1984 my advanced reloading setup was a Lyman T mag, Rcbs little dandy powder measure, and lee hand priming tool. I loaded one load, in one caliber but it saved money and made shooting fun. Little did I know how deep the rabbit hole would become.

Maybe I would price my handloads if, I use/still use some components I have on hand; Cost of Unque in 2000. Cost of CCI Smal pistol primers 2009/2010. (2010 on sale for ?). Lead for casting in 1998 (w/50% free WW). .357 125gr JHP bullets puchased in 2000, 2005, 2010. RR Nukes, 115 & 124 2021-2022. Misc loading suplies, (lube components, bees wax, caranuba wax, etc., made in 2005, 2007, 2009. 2010). Powder coat paint purchased in 2015). Cost of restoking primers, 50% on sale in 2015. Universal powder purchsed in 2019. CCI SP 2019. CFE Pistol, 700x, HS-6, W231 purchased in 2018-2020. These are the components I still use mainly for 9mm (several other components for other calibers).
My father (later, I) owned our range, so there was no free range-pickup.
Of course, it meant that throughout most of my life, my "range master" was (at least at the time) the youngest Master Sargent in the history of the so-called "Regular Army" (before the distinction between the USA and the AUS was abolished).
