Can anyone confirm this? I read on another forum that only class 03 FFL holders will be allowed in for 2014.

no. You must be an FFL holder or legitimately involved in the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor trade (SHOT). An 03 FFL is the Curio and Relics License. Why would a show aimed at retailers restrict itself to hobbyists?

Historically the show has always been for FFL holders only, but in the last few years there have been a notable number of tire kickers that aren't actually at the show to buy firearms at wholesale volumes.

If you aren't there to stock a store or distributor, you shouldn't be there at all. Nothing is more disrespectful than the guy shopping for his next carry gun, taking up a salesguys time, when the salesguy is going to have hell to pay if he books less than a million dollars of new business at SHOT.

Out of interest, how do so many mods here get to go?

In my case, ive been in the industry for 16 years and have an 01 ffl on the side. A number of the mods go on press passes I believe, but im not sure.

You make it sound like the membership monies are spent on Mods going to SHOT (joke about the membership "dues")!

Any Mods that go pay their own way except for the nearly nominal entry fee paid by THR.

I've gone for myself and for my company at various times. Since I've been a Mod here I always write up what I see that's interesting whenever I've gone.
