Well it's a new year and man oh MAN do we think this coming year is going to be downright UGLY when it comes to anti-gun legislation

Before we start with the new stuff here's a recap of 2015:

1858 state bills were introduced

756 of them were pro gun (as rated by us)

So with that being said here we go:

New today:

Washington DC B21-0116 would require anyone under a temporary restraining order to relinquish their firearms

SB178 would take away the power to determine reciprocity with other states from the AG and give that authority to the general assembly

SB184 is a high capacity magazine ban, making any magazine over 10 rounds illegal

SB186 would remove most of the training course currently usable when applying for a concealed carry permit.

SB187 would require 'A person who sells, rents, trades, or transfers a firearm shall require the prospective transferee to present a firearms transfer permit and one photo-identification form issued by a governmental agency of the Commonwealth or by the U.S. Department of Defense'.

Copying these over from the 2015 thread because Virginia starts a brand new session this year:

HB119 would allow members of the national guard to carry firearms at facilities and under contract if the have a carry permit

HB12 would change reciprocity laws to accept any permit from any state

HB129 would expand advertising of firearms that have been seized and are going to be sold so that as many people as possible can see them in an attempt to find the rightful owners before a sale

SB95 would make the victim of a firearm theft civilly liable for any crime committed with that firearm if the court can show they did not have it secured properly

HB206 would remove the requirement for a second piece of identification when buying a firearm

SB138 would allow local government to set up regulations to prohibit gun stores within 1000 feet of a school

SB156 would allow family members to make statements to the court as to why their relative should not be allowed to have a concealed carry license

Isn't the sterile area the area past the TSA check points where the gates are? How are you supposed to carry there?<P>
Perhaps both this bill and the Senate version meant you can only carry in the non-sterile area?
