2018 Buck

We are only allowed 1 branch antlered buck, in the county I hunt. This was the last week of December, and in the rain. I wish his tines had been longer, but the bucks were very scarce this year,

Nothing to be ashamed of- this has been a buckless year for me, aside from the spike that I killed with my jeep last week. I did get 3 does. I still have 2 weeks left, so it's not over yet...

I would be happy with that one. I don't know what happened to the bucks on the farm that I hunt. I have had good ones for 3 years. Last year I even passed up four in one day before I shot a nice 11 pt. This year I had two good ones on camera and never saw them in person, or animal in this case. Your buck is wider than any that I have taken, and I have killed a lot of deer. Puff that chest out. You got a good one.

Thanks guys. He was not the one I wanted, but the deer, especially bucks, were very uncooperative this year.

I don't know what was going on this year. It was crazy. Hardly anything was going to corn, and we were not getting pictures in the oak flats, over acorns. I actually watched deer and hogs, walk right over corn, and not stop. I have NEVER seen that. We normally have a lot of buck pictures, but they were few and far between. I had pictures of 2 bucks bigger than this one, but they just disappeared.

They are pretty good at that. On one farm that I hunted several years back we would have 6 or 8 nice bucks running together all summer. Around the first of October they would be gone. We took some nice deer but they weren't the ones that we had watched all summer.
