Thanks!
I would love to say, that after 40+ years of hunting,I had patterned them and blah blah blah.
But fact is,I just got lucky!
Seems every decent buck I ever got was by sheer luck, walking I to or out of my area.
But that's hunting...you can do all the practice, scouting etc etc...but if it ain't your time it ain't your time!
I'll probably never get a buck bigger, and I'm ok with that!
Heck I'm just happy, with my schedule,to get outside in Gods great outdoors, unwind and let the pressures of work melt away.
That's the true trophy for me.

People say that musket actually made in India are junk and don't shoot..., February 2019

And there was also this doe on the last day of the 2018-2019 season January of 2019, taken with a Flintlock Rifle..., OK small, but at 08:30 and the season ends at 10:00...you take what is put in front of you....

Then in October the rifle spoke again and took another doe, for 2019...

Nice shooting Dave congratulations on your success.

View from my stand in November. I shot a small buck in the brush to the right. IMG_20181218_154840.jpg
My Labradoodle and a bird I shot. They are scarce around here now.

Well, in southwestern Pa, the season is only days away from ending even in my special regs area.

I was lucky enough to get the small racked 14 point nontypical and a doe 75 feet from my garage door.

I did leave seedlings for next season. We are not allowed to bait in our area and regs say the salt/ mineral blocks need to leave 30 days prior to early archery.
Once done. I placed the salt back out to see if any of the 8 legal bucks were around. (Scouting for next Sept. Ha.)

I usually leave at least one camera out all year just to see when antler growth starts and whos stopping by.

Nice yote congrats. Sure it counts. How far was the shot.
About 200 yards with an AR in .223
<<< Probably would not have got it without Jake. I was reading news and drinking coffee. Jake spotted the yote out the window from his vantage point on the couch, which he isn't supposed to be on but knows he can until my wife gets out of bed.

Our season here is still going for about 3 more weeks. Supposedly they are in full rut right now. The temp yesterday at sundown was 70. The deer are almost completely nocturnal. I saw more daytime deer activity in November than I am seeing now. The weather has alternated between hot (60's/70's in the daytime) or hard rain. Worst season ever.

Hopefully something will get them moving. Have you tried buck lure, or Tinks doe in estrous bombs. It may work if in full rut.

Sometimes things seem to go just as planned. With just two days of season to go, my son shot this very-late-season buck late last night. Antlers have been shedded long ago but it's pretty big although young, probably three years old and 200lbs+.

Even though he has shot a lot of game over the years, this was his VERY FIRST WHITETAIL and he's over the moon now. We had sauna and a few beers afterwards, along with shots of Ratzeputz (google it, we were fresh out of Jägertee & Jägermeister, that's more or less the same thing but on serious steroids) to celebrate this. :D

Next season... another one like this but with antlers still intact. Something to look forward to.
