I like horsemen61's goals thread in the Handloading and Reloading forum and thought rifle goals would be a good companion thread. What are your rifle goals for 2019? Is there a holy grail you hope to acquire? Is there a training program you want to attend? List your goals here.

My goal for 2019 is to get to the 1,000 yard range about an hour from me. I need to work up an accurate load for either my .260 Remington or my .260 Ackley Improved and use that to qualify on the range. Once qualified, I want to do a lot more distance shooting, now that I live fairly close to a range that can accommodate it.

I’d like to keep more of my barrels warm more often, finish up all the minor projects, and add at least 1 really nice bolt action before next New Year. Candidates include another CZ, possibly rebarreling a 700, or finding a Sauer to play with. Always on the hunt for used .22s and better optics with which to satiate my wants.

Oh boy... Mauser projects!

AR projects, perhaps filing with ATF for a SBR.

And make it to that three-gun match in Lexington! (Is that a rifle goal? It is for me.)

I have actually been selling a few rifle to make some room in the safe. With that money I think this could be the year of Tikka for me. I am eyeing a T1x and the T3x Tac a1. That's about it for me this year. I am still having tons of fun with my Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 and PC Carbine. I am also interested in the the new CZ 457.

I just want to get my 700 .270 back in shape.

I would also like to find a screaming deal on a 223 bolt rifle.

I’m always looking for a deal on lever guns I don’t already have, or calibers I don’t have.

Bought three rifles in 2018 and there's only one more on my wanted list....... A Henry single shot rifle..... Sure looks interesting but no LGS's or other retailers have had any. I have never even seen one in person. Maybe someday...... Until then I'm making room in the safe for it by selling off a few safe queens that haven't been shot in years; and using the proceeds to pay for my new Henry if I ever see one around here.

I bought my .357 from Classic Firearms and had it shipped to a local FFL. Really like it!

Shoot them.

Seriously, every rifle I've bought has been for shooting at least a few times. But, I acquire faster than I get to places to shoot, especially long guns, and I own 11 rifles I've not yet shot (five centerfires, including my only AR, and six rimfires.) With pretty much all the shooting places around here being indoor, 25-yard-max ranges, I tend to bring only handguns when I make it over to any of them.

Mainly I want to spend more time working on reading wind! I feel I have my 260 Rem. Tuned in pretty good but I struggle with wind big time! I also will attempt to work up a hot load of 208 eld match bullets for my 300 wm and give the 1 mile shot a try or 2.

Build my A2 clone, and maybe an Axis in .30-06, since I have a ton of brass. Work up 60 gr. Nosler Partition loads for deer for my AR.

For new guns, I am really thinking about that RAR predator in 6.5 CM. Already have a Horus falcon 5-20 with H37 reticle to go on top. For shooting? Just plan on the normal weekly routing at the range- 10 to 900 meters, depending what I'm using that day.

I have falling in love with the Lever Action Rifle,I have seven now,I bought six and the wife bought one I want two more that's the plan for 2019.:thumbup:

i have had the urge for some big frame lever action, the win 85 and 86 or maybe a 71 but thats unlikely. i missed out on a 1895 win in 35 win last month and i am still thinking about it. also i would like to build a bolt gun in a precision 6mm cartridge( dot know what one yet) but make the rifle light weight.

I'm in the "only accurate rifles are interesting" camp, and I think in 2019 I'm going to have to finally own a rifle that routinely prints 1/2 MOA groups. IOW, not a hunting rifle. LOL

Shoot my 6.5 Creedmoor enough to need a rebarrel reload more good rifle ammo sight in my 336 in 35 rem finish my 6.5 Swede build
