I am getting the hots to purchase a suppressor and want to mount it on a bolt action .22 LR. The only real bolt action .22 that I have much experience with are some Marlin 925's that my sons and I have. Those things are surprisingly accurate for the money that we spent on them! Does anyone have any experience with the Marlin XT-22RZ? I have a friend with a suppressor on a Ruger American Rimfire and it is a blast to shoot as well. I have some life-size squirrel silhouette targets and the bullet striking the steel target makes more noise than my friend's suppressed rifle going off. I know the CZ's will come up in this discussion as well. What are your experiences? I am really looking for something that will be squirrel hunting accurate, but my definition may be different than many people's for "squirrel hunting accurate." I like to make head shots at up to 75 yards, so it needs to be able to shoot well.

Cz are great guns, that internally suppressed 22 is very cool. Other would a the ruger American rimfire. I have owned a few all made well and very accurate.

I have no experience with the XT-22RZ, so I'm not going to knock it, but see my comments on the RAR below.

I also have a suppressed RAR and I have to agree that it's a blast to shoot. I went with this one. I had to have the barrel threaded, obviously. While I really like it, I have to admit that a buddy came out to the range with me a couple of months ago and brought his RAR Target Model. His was clearly more accurate. If I were looking to get head shots at 75 yards and went with the RAR, I'd definitely go with something with the bull barrel.

I will also tell you that you're right. The CZs are going to come up in this discussion. They certainly did when I was thinking about a suppressor host.

I have no knowledge of the Ruger. May be a fine rifle Dunno

What I do have experience with are CZ’s. With my 453 Varminter and Wolf Match target ammo, I’d hit a dime with most shots at 50 yards off a bench

I have no idea if the accuracy would be affected with a suppressor

I have a Marlin XT-22 that has never been fired without a suppressor. I bought it new, had the barrel threaded the same day I bought it and all ways shoot it suppressed. I shoot CCI standard velocity and CCI subsonic ammo.

It is very accurate, Stupid quiet (Quieter than most air rifles) and I really like the adjustable trigger.

I highly recommend the Marlin XT-22. It's a great rifle for the money.

The XT-22 is the newer version of the 25N, and I own one of those. It is a tiny bit more accurate than my CZ 452 but that is 1) splitting hairs, and 2) not necessarily indicative of typical accuracy for the Marlin. Both were purchased new by me and I can say the Marlin took far more work from the box to clean up (including trigger work).

Whatever rifle you choose do yourself the favor of knowing its accuracy with SV hunting ammo before wasting money on threading and suppression.
