I have seen CCI and Federal at Walmart. The loco times are indeed over.:)

We get 'em in on a regular schedule now. (Walmart) They occasionally last a few days on the shelf, but eventually sell out. We are able to keep Shorts and WRM in stock now.

Me not know what happenin to world. Local Walmart more 16ga variety than LGS. They even has Winchester 1oz premium load from Australia. Mama mia!

It's readily available here at Bass Pro and the local gun showroom, but no more at Wal-Mart. None of the three WM stores in my city even have a shelf tag for it.

The new Dick's opens here nest week. I'm pretty sure they'll have it.

And I'm seeing it for 5 cents a round online, much better. That said I have about 5 thousand rounds to go through before I need to buy any.

I intend to build a small (not very small though) crate and fill it with the 3 22 rimfires that I shoot, seal it up and pretend it doesn't exist. Probably 5% shorts, 70% LR, and the remainder mags...and a few boxes of 17hmr in case I get another one. It's available and affordable now. That may change, and I don't intend to be caught unprepared again. If I'm stocking 10k rounds of center fire already, another 20k rounds of rimfire shouldn't be an issue.

Indeed!
I was in an Academy Sports in Newnan, Ga. they had more than a dozen 1400rd tubs of Remington and even had the assorted Aguila and Federal on endcaps of the Sporting Goods isles.
Not sequestered behind the counter as before.
Prices are "almost" reasonable.

hso

Now that's a serious amount of .22s! That must be one sturdy table to have all of that stacked up on it!

I wonder how many of the people complaining about those who stockpile will begin amassing their own stockpiles now. . .

I am seeing it a little bit more, but many stores are still rationing and have small stacks on display. I suppose time will tell if they are really low, or if they are just maintaining the appearance of scarcity.

The crisis isn't over until I can walk in and buy what I want, as much as I want.

22 supplies were tight here in 2016 until Gander Mountain opened a store back in September that they stocked full of .22LR for the Grand Opening sale. Of course, the other stores in the area had to stock up to compete. Since then there's been no problem getting .22 even if it was sometimes expensive.

It's a relief I can buy online for around 5 cents a round but no celebrating until I can go into a local Walmart here in MN and buy the Federal or Remington bulk packs. Still nothing. At least not for folks who have better things to do than stand in line at 6AM and clean things out.

I did that a couple shortages ago except for 22 mag. There may be/was a shortage going on, but I have plenty for my needs at home. I think its a good idea to slowly stock up on the stuff you shoot until you get a comfortable cache built up.

The two local Wal-farts have not had any .22 LR that I have seen in over a year. They had a little in about 6-8 weeks after a Gander Mtn. opened back in the spring of 2015 but none since. The DO have .22 Mag however, but at almost $20 for a box of 50 !!

Academy opened late last year and had some at fairly reasonable prices but in limited quantities. Since then, Academy has done better at having .22 LR in stock but rather pricey whereas GM hasn't had much and it has been WAY overpriced.

Around here it is definitely more available in both the .22 and .22 WMR variety checking at the independent LGS within reasonable driving distance-----at about one third more than the price it was before the madness. I fear that this will be the new normal. I have not seen a single round of any type of rimfire other than 17HMR at Wal Mart as of yet (or for the last 7 years for that matter). I have not bothered to check the local Dick's as they only ever stocked Remington Golden Crap bulk packs and I never purchased those. The closest Cabellas is about three hours drive away so who knows about them. And that's the way it is around here.:scrutiny:

Seeing it locally in Oregon for the first time in 4 years or so. Interesting how suddenly it became available after the election.

I keep looking in the walmart and rural king locally. Nothing in bricks and usually what they do have is 50 rds. of the cheaper (lower quality) 22 lr.

Maybe my timing is off when I go looking. Or maybe I live in the wrong neck of the woods.

It is good to here the positive reports though. The stock of 22 should reach here in the near future.

And it only took 9 years. Crazy for sure, but yes, it is almost back to "normal." (Now if Berrys would make a run of 83 Gr WCs in .32, then it would really be over. :))

I have not been, but I have heard it stays on the shelf at Walmart here a few days now.

I'll start buying again when it comes back down to the price of the carton of 500 I'm using now, bought at Dick's decades ago for $8.99. What's that expression, "buy cheap, stack deep"?

I will admit it was a sale price though. And it was crappy Remington unplated solids. But they still go bang, at least most of the time. I did mention they were Remington's. lol

I am tired of 325 boxes of Automatch. It is about all I have seen from Federal since Sandy Hook. I want some 500 or 550 boxes of 36gr plated.
