I've got lots of LC (Federal) brass primed with CCI 400 Primers, 500 52gr BTHP pills and 2 cans of 4064. Anyone else play with this powder in 223...if so what is your pet load and what can you share. I"m going to be loading this for plinking ammo for my AR-15 16" with 1-7" bbl with 556 chamber. I know I"ll be fine thinking about 25.5-26gr of 4064.

IMR4064 in 5.56mm

You may be working with compressed loads. IMR 4064 with 68 & 69 gr bullets in a bolt were ok. Not as accurate as IMR 3031 & IMR 4198. Watch for primer flow as you work up using the CCI 400.

Listed maximums are 25.8 & 25.7 for 52gr. Maybe ok for a 5.56 chamber??

4064 reaches case capacity before it reaches 55k psi so as long as you are loading ammo to magazine length, there is no such thing as a 5.56 load.
