I just recently got one and yesterday while cleaning the cosmoline off I pulled on a lever causing the bolt to slip out. Well, the bolt hit the garage floor and the back of the bolt broke off. After further inspection it looked like the firing pin broke. I subsequently pushed the bolt back into the reciever, at which time it became stuck. Now I can't manage to unbolt it. I started taking the trigger and everthing off of it and I still can't take the bolt off the receiver. Any ideas? Would the pin breaking have something to do with it. Any suggestions would help. Also, the only place of found a replacement pin for sale was at e-gunparts, but there out of stock. They say to check back in 30-60 days. Do you guys know of any other places. There's a ton of Mauser 98 pins for sale, but the 24/47 are hard to find. thx for your help as always....(oh, and I had just finished staining the stock, it was coming along nicely, but the stupid pin broke)

Mr. Rev, does the bolt not turn at all? As in the bolt is locked closed?

If that's the case, i suspect that it has something to do with the famous Mauser 3-position safety. Whatever damage was caused when the bolt dropped managed to lock the safety into the "full" safety position, which not only locks back the firing pin but also locks the bolt closed.

Unfortunately, I don't know how you would go about getting it to unlock, especially since I'm not looking at the rifle right now. However, I would consider that to be a place to start.

Ambluancedriver - yes the bolt it locked close. I'll try to post a pic in the next day or two. In the meantime, hope someone with more experience with this particular mauser could help out. Thx again

Parts arent that easy to come by, m48 bolt & firing pin are the same as the 24/47, their is NEW listings on ebay, their is a seller who has firing pins and complete bolt assemblies.
