In a part of Utah that resembles Tattooine.
Since we appear to be emerging from the supply shortage, I better start looking to load for my .243 AR-10 with 1/8 twist.

I will be using small-base dies, just thinking if it's for an AR I might as well start with them. Heavier bullets, 85 gr and higher. (I have been running 105 gr Core-Lokts until now, I have it down to about 1 MOA.) I will probably try a variety of Bergers, Hornadys, and Barnes to start.

What's everyone's .243 powder? Anyone have an AR-10 load that's magical? I have some 4350 already.

If you have an adjustable gas block, load anything you want. You can control any over gassing. Your plan sounds good, go for it. When I loaded 243 decades ago I thing I used W748 powder back then, 40+ yrs ago.

I have been using h4350 39.8 gr under 100 gr hornandy spbt, but I'm using a 1'9 twist bolt action. That's .2 gr under hodgen max. I get fairly consistent sub in at 200.

I’ve been very pleased with 4831SC and 103 elds. This is in a RPR though, I believe its a 1:7.7 . Good luck.

I’ve used 41.5gr of IMR4350 under most cup and core 100gr bullets for several decades.
It’s sub MOA given a capable rifle and bullet. Check manuals as some say it’s over max with some component combinations.
In my experience accuracy with CorLokts is sketchy. Most lots I’ve had run 1.5-2moa. However occasionally a lot will do much better...
Sierra and Nosler have been perennial favorites. Hornady is typically close as are Speer. Most others are questionable.

Accuracy is typically best with bullets just “kissing” the lands in the throat. However this isn’t possible in many applications such as box magazines or long throats such as Weatherby rifles.
Another stand out load was 42.0gr of IMR4064 under a Hornady 65gr V-Max. A Savage Axis I had would shot 1/2moa with it. Sold it as I hated the stock.
