Definitely. It pretty much all is in our heads. I've never had a cartridge fail to perform on deer (haven't shot any elk/moose...yet).
PMC was loading with GK and MK, but they don't seem to be around anymore.
I've never understood the long/short action thing. Weight difference is negligible IMO. Action stiffness...you'll never see a difference. Bolt throw, perhaps. 1/2"...ehhh.
25-06 looks more interesting than 260 for deer and especially varmints. For play velocity is fun. For work...
