Stunning 29-2 4” Class B Engraving $999?!?! HOW??

I’m gun broke for the next 2 months, But a 29-2 4“ factory engraved is on consignment for $999 if anybody is interested. I don’t know the Class of Engraving but I can take photos tomorrow. They do ship to FFL.

How strange, a factory engraved (really, does it letter?) M28. I'd have sunk a few bucks more and had a M27 embellished.

Pre-28, left the factory in 1955 (lettered). Somewhere in it's life it was sent off to be engraved by a "house" in Mainz Germany, back when you could ship a gun in the mail, I emailed another engraver in that area and that was his conclusion. Relative value I don't know, it shoots good and I only paid 300 for it in 2003.

I thought it was a 28-2. Though I did wonder why someone would engrave a 28.

Actually, I would have been more excited about a 28. Just thinking about shooting.44 Magnum makes my wrist ache.
I just recently discovered shooting my Glock 43 does a number on my wrist that lasts for days. That snap with the twist the slide recoiling sux.

I suppose I could get excited about .44 Special in a fancy engraved model 29.

My Sweet Lord Mark, I thought I got a deal with my Colt Trooper. You, Sir, have cornered the market with that piece for $999. I bought a 98% 29-2 with presentation box, but no tools or engraving, for $1200 a few months ago and I thought that was a screaming deal. You OWN the market, dude!

Edited to add: I am INSANELY jealous. I’m not wildly into engraved guns but I sure would love to have that one. If you ever want to part with it, you have to PROMISE to give me right of first refusal. It’s the right thing to do. It’s for the children.

Edited again: now you need to have CraigC make you a custom holster for it. Then you need to open carry that sumbitch wherever you go!
