I was visiting my daughter's middle school today and in the cafeteria I spotted a Bill of Rights poster on the wall, so I walked up to see what it said about the 2nd Amendment fully expecting some sort of far left statement and what it said almost knocked me over in surprise. It said

2nd Amendment
People have the right to own and carry weapons.
I wasn't expecting anything at all like this in a public school, I was even half way expecting it to leave out the 2nd. This was a factory made poster for the schools not just something that someone just made and taped to the wall.
Now why couldn't they have worded it that simple in the Bill of Rights?

Oh shoot... you would say that, it was her last day in school until Aug, so I won't have a chance to see it again until then and I had my video camera in my hand at the time. (it does shoot stills):banghead:

Graduated in '05, and pretty sure all three schools I went through had the same poster.

But hold an exacto-knife incorrectly in art, or a wood chisel in shop class, and your still suspended.

Back when people used to bring their hunting shotguns to school, how many kids ran around shooting up the school?

I'm not really all that surprised the poster said something like that.
Today, in a public school and you're not surprised? What gets me is the fact they have a poster that says I have the right to carry weapons and then they have a sign on the door that says I cannot even with my CCW permit.

Let me guess. You home school your kid right?
If you are asking me, no, how else could I be visting her middle school?

What state was this in?!?!??!
Louisville, Kentucky

I have one in my highschool that says

GUN CONTROL WORKS
"just ask the Nazis and communists"

It brought a tear to my eye :)
